Can You Throw Germinated Seeds Straight Into Soil?

I went to Home Depot and they claimed they didn't have Rockwool cubes, So all I got was a pot and soil. Is it okay to throw a germinated seed into soil? Also, How old does it have to be before I can start adding nutrients? Thanks guys.

Yes, you can throw a germinated seed in soil, keep it moist. It depends on the soil, but most plants don't need nutes for a few weeks after sprouting.

Yess you can throw them babies in soil. They might get a little burn, depending on your soil, but the will adapt to the soil. As for adding nutes, again depends on your soil, most soils can provide adequate nutrients to last a couple weeks. I would add nutes when your baby shows signs it needs them. Common mistake is to nute to early and you end up burning them up.

Thanks for the replies guys. What are the signs of a plant needing nutes? I know they turn yellow and curl when they're getting too much, But I have no idea what they look like when they need them. Also, The soil is terrible. I bought like 15 pounds for 3 bucks. My overall budget was $40 to make a sneaky grow box. I have the 5000k CFL lights (Couldn't find 6500k), 2700K CFL lights, Very cheap nutes, The pot, and Soil. I'm also lining the box as we speak with Aluminum Foil, Because I couldn't afford a bunch of lights, And I could use all the reflection I need.

Edit: Also, How deep do I plant the seed? This is obviously my first time attempting to grow. = P

You would be better off pulling down the foil and just paint it flat white. You can get some cheap flat white spray paint at a dollar store. Make sure in dries COMPLETELY before growing in there though.

i agree with the flat white paint,,, way better than foil.
plant the seed about 2-3 seeds deep if u know what i mean, between 1/4 nd 1/2 inch, covered good but not packed too tight with the tail pointing down

Thanks again, Guys. You've all been extremely helpful. I home to find some of you in my next thread. I'll be making one with pics on my setup, And I'll be looking for some feedback. I know everyone is going to hate on me for only having 4 lights, But it's just one plant, And considering I've never grown any kind of plant in my life, I wouldn't expect it to live halfway through the vegging state anyway.

It's easier than you think...
Haha, I hope so! How strong can I expect the smell to be? I'm living with like 6 people, And I'll be growing it inside a box in my closet. Unfortunately it's on the other side of the room from a window, So I don't see how I can air it out at all.

4 lights is enough for one plant, but more is better. Now, of course this depends on how you want your grow and what strain you have. I'd advise LST to maximize your grow and also make the most of the lights while vegging. When going to flower, you can also use the 4 lights (I do so), but I have to move them around every couple of days so that the lower buds also get light. Assumed you have CFLs.

it wont smell yet.my plants are like 3 weeks old no smell yet,i think they start to smell like on the flowering stage.
Depends on the strain. While in vegging, I don't think any strain will smell very strong, not so strong that the smell would fill the house, anyway. When going to flower though, things *might* change radically. Some strains just kick you out of the house without a carbon filter or some other odor neutralizer, while others don't smell at all, or just smell like...well, plants. Do a little research to be able to prepare yourself for what you currently grow. Oh, and spraying some perfume in the room will not help :) Had a friend who thought just that, but it didn't help him very much. The smell will be back in half hour, tops.
