Apparently he had some crazy support in court, directors of the cannabis club testifying that the stuff was for their patients, and money was their float. He had bus loads of patients from the club in court supporting him and the judge realized that he wasn't the average drug trafficker.

I only remember seeing a clip where jt said it would be something they would look into.
I always thought that pardons were kinda asking for a lot and no one wishes they would do it more than me.
for the very basic....possession charges....which absolutely tons of people have had....done to them....
in some cases because the officers wanted a coffee break...back at the station house....

This is the standard weed lawyer defense for compassion club insiders,
No different than ted smiths's defence, phil loucas's trafficking defence,
Mat beren's cultivation for purposes of trafficking, owen smiths cookie defense,
Thing is though these defenses cost big $$$
So if your not a major insider the high cost of a deluxe defence is on your own dime
