CANNA-BUTTER QUESTION

WOw you guys are crazy. Wouldn't things taste much better if you separated the plant material from the Trichomes first and just put the pure trichs in the butter? I wouldn't want to eat green cookies that tasted like cattle feed, I have hay right outside at my farm, its not that tasty.

I didn't read the entire thread so pardon any redundance but if you will freeze the weed first before making the butter you will get more trichromes and less chlorophyll in your butter. Freezing makes the trichromes brittle so they break off more easily and attach to the fat molecules in the butter. Also I always use organic butter. Regular butter has quite a bit of water in it, organic butter is all butter
or you could just make bubble hash and put that in there;)

Easier said than done. Any cannabis product is gonna bave some veg in it. Try taking the protein out of a steak.
Hmm, I just use a hash box, or some bubble bags then add that to the butter. No plant material in my cookies, none. I like the hash box better, way more product, but alot more work.

Yeah, freezing is instrumental to any washes or cubes/machine for oil or hash. I didn't realize the freeze would make it even that much better for butter!

Any imput, spek?

You simply need to try my edibles. Even my Mom, who believe me would never use cannabis, can't smell or taste any green at all in my cookies when I forced her to try a bite.

I will definitely try the freezing thing next batch I make. I still have three batches worth of edibles from the last oil I made. However, I find it hard to believe that freezing it will allow more trichs to break free beyond what my stirring over 4 hours does, but I digress; I am the type to try anything once. Because I use my edibles in measured doses every day, I'm a great non-scientific tester for any variances in my goods.

I'll post later on down the road any differences I find.

ps. I'm an organic nut, so if I say I use something, I assure you it's organic all the way. Even the butter I use is local organic, salted with pink Himalayan salt :)

I just bought some Canna Butter from a medical dispensary in SoCal. (Actually best friend did, along with other things on the menu) IIt says on the lable-- Canna Butter 8 tlbs = 1/2 cup and under it read "One gram" This concentration seems small. I have cronic pain and problems with nausea and lack of appetite. Is this a small concentration? How should I use it for medicinal purposes and/or to feel a little somethin somethin?

Freezing is pointless if you are applying heat. Freeze your trim for BHO, ISO, or bubble, but not for butter. There is just no point.

When I make my edibles, I always make sure to add a touch (a tsp) of vanilla extract. It really does a great job of taking any bitterness right out of the recipe. I even add it to my Ghirardelli canna-chocolate icing just to make it taste that much better.

Wow, that chocolate icing sounds incredible! I will look around but i want to make sure i know EXACTLY what i am doing to extract THC from herb to put in brownies or edibles. I don't want to burn or waste anything or not do it long enough to get the most. That would be a huge waste of money and its soooo hard to find a weed guy out here!

I make mine with Bubble hash. I cannot stand the taste of grass clippings. I run an ounce of trim through the bags and dump the bubble directly into a pound of simmering butter. Has a very nice flavor and works wonderfully! I have a silicon mold with 1 tablespoon cups that holds 1 pound of butter. Once frozen I wrap each one in foil and keep frozen till I give it away.
