Cannabis agronomy: Accelerate growth by stressing roots somehow?

Anyone know how to do this? Does it involve special dry backs? My friend said he does it to speed up veg a whole week.

you can prune the roots on a rootbound plant and transplant it into the same container with fresh medium but its not gonna help it grow any faster

Imo, It works the opposite. If you stress the roots, you slow down plant growth, due to plant having to use energy to repair root damage. That's energy that could go towards stem and leaf growth.

Dryback is timing when the plants are almost dry not dry. The phrase can be misleading. The best way to have good roots is proper environment, nutrition, rootzone pH and genetics.. Some plants have weak ass roots some have explosive ones.
