Trying to decide if I want to bet $100 it doesn't suck.

This is the first I've heard of this. To steep for my tastes and not a bet I would take. I've been to a few events and have usually been disappointed. This post seems like a last minute promotion for the event. I could be wrong, maybe it'll be a good time but $100?

“When a man points a finger at someone else, he should remember that four of his fingers are pointing at himself.” Instead of letting it be a disappointment, why don’t you show up with your entry and show RI what it’s all about? For the record, I don’t know a single person involved with this event or anyone sponsoring it. I simply saw the advertisement on the Releaf.co site and thought I would bring it to other people’s attention. Wow, what a nice, friendly, optimistic and nurturing environment we have here in the RI section.

Well since you asked I will tell you why I won't be attending. It's a complete and utter rip off..... You want me to pay $100 and bring an "entry" ie free weed. For what? You think medical patients are going to show up in droves and pay $100? I'll answer that, No... A bunch of people trying to take advantage of patients...

As far as you not having a connection to any of the sponsors, I simply do not believe you. You 8 posts, every single one pimping a product. First it was that neem oil quantum product, and your first post was "hey I heard about this great product" then you continued to defend and pretend that you had no connection when you were called out on your spam. Me 500 posts and not one pimping any product or service. Soooo, not nurturing or friendly enough for you? There are people here who know me and have met me, who are you? Go take advantage some where else.

Btw it's point one three back at you...

If I could get in for one day for $25, I'd be there, just to see. But $100 is ridiculous.

And Canna, if you're not a shill, you've managed to do an amazingly good imitation of one.

I too have backed way off on the public events in RI, nothing but drama and advertisements. The magazine war really set the tone IMO, not what growing is about for me.

Sorry, I did not see the list of rules that said, “do not inform others about helpful products and events!” Foolishness, ignorance,anger, pessimism, and fear all seem like barriers to me. I understand that your meds are still an embarrassment after all these years and you get frustrated by this. It will work out someday. Love is the answer.

No problem,....if you knew who I was, you'd know I used to be a big part of it all, much like yourself, I was a big "rally the troops" type...I've just seen enough. Sometimes you have to listen to the inner voice that tells you to back up. Props for the share, have a blast, be safe and smoke 'em up!!

LBH I too have have watched the show going on at these events. Same peeps trying to pump their chests and make themselves feel important. The last event I went to was when they fixed the raffle for a trip to Amsterdam. I believe it was in Pawtucket around November of 2011. I watched a girl stand by the stage after she had been hanging with the promoters most of the night 10 min before they even announced the raffle. I was at my friends booth and pointed to her and said "watch she's going to win the trip" and what do you know, she won. Then her boyfriend came running over and gave a really bad acting performance. It was a joke. Am I psychic? No, it was so obvious it was ridiculous. Lost most of my faith in these events. You on the other hand have my respect. I've met you briefly and have read many of your posts.

Now how is this one going to be different? Oh ya, $100 cover charge. What a racket. I strongly urge everyone to think long and hard about going to this secret spot, bring free Meds to judge and pay a $100 cover party. Sounds like a bunch of people trying to make a quick buck. I will be in my shop growing embarrassing Meds that weekend...

1000Watts Event what do you expect.

Ouch, my little sister just started working for 1000watts...

Hey im a mass patient and I saw this med cup competition at a hydro shop in RI. I bought a tic for 100 $. It is a 2 day tic march 30 is the sample and judge day which according to the web site is held at a private undesclosed location. You get free samples of all entered strains and food drinks there will be prizes etc. I guess there will be one of those thc testers there and anyone can have any strain you want tested for a fee. You can bring your own nug and medicate as needed at the function. They said just be in prov on sat at 1230 and you will get a call.on sunday is a concert and party at a bar at 420 not sure who it is noreaga I think but idk who that is. The 100 $ is for both days. It is also just for admission that is not if you want to enter a strain to be judged. If you enter a strain you need to bring 2.5oz of the strain and 50 $ . This is all facts as read on the web site thats putting this on.
Now that being said ...in my opinion if you are commited to this indusrty and want to learn more and be apart of the first east coast medical cup and your bitching about spending 100 $ then your just cheap.i meen if your a caregiver you replace bulbs every fer months that cost more than that.MAybe dude is right and it wont be that great but its gonna be what we the people make it ya know.to me its a chance to make new friends and contacts consult with lots of other caregivers all at once.im going with an open mind and im going to learn alot.idk why anyone would hate on a medical cup anyway i meen at the very worst im spending100 on a 2 day weed party it could be worse. Just my mind set I don't get paid for this shit but you better believe that I lve told every patient and caregiver and even potential new patients about it. Ya know why? Cause lifes what ya make it. So if I don't see you there then thats orob not a bad thing

I've been committed to the industry long before it was a legal one and did my part in helping RI become legal so please don't judge my "commitment" on my willingness to go give a bunch of ego hungry dudes $100. I know my meds rank, I've had enough opinions on that over the years. The opinion of 3 more strangers isnt worth $ to me.

I replace bulbs because its cost justified to do so,......a dick swinging contest isn't (for me)

fwiw- Know your grow is the only gas lab in new england at the moment,....I'd be real curious to know who will be testing these meds and how? Anyone know?

Couldnt the cost of admission also be justified by new caregivers growers and patients that are going to learn and meet contacts all in one place and not on craigslist? Im a mass patient and we don't have a network of growers set up like you so to me it may provide a foot in the door. But in your situation I can see how it may not matter much to you.also thanks for your contribution to the movement its appreciated country wide.I do hope its not a ripoff if it is it will be a shame there is no reason to be greedy in this industry. All I could find out about the testing was that each strain would be triple tested by a lab and that the results would be given on sunday but that you can also bring your on private non entered strain and pay for testing.Again im looking forward to it and I hope it doesnt suck and I hope I leave smarter than I was when I went in but if it sucks then that can be a lesson to and when the medical cuo in mass does the first competition you can bet ill do what I can to make it by the people for the people

Also LBH your scrog tek is perfect and explaned awsome most people dont screen proper im sure that helped a lot of peeps. Maybe you can help me. What is the general opinion on co2 in a perpetual grow? Ive heard that you change your ppm depending on the stage of flower you are in.maybe you or someome can clarify that for me.
