Cannabis Cup 2013 Denver, CO

It sucked, very poorly ran , way over crowded but I expected that. My first and last cup. The medical smoking section was cool because they actually had samples but nothing too crazy. I was not impressed with many of the products there . I did buy a pack of Tga new release called Micky kush, It was suppose to be 5 seeds and only 4 were in the package when i unopened it. Oh well I guess... Reserva privada was not even selling their seeds. I only saw Tga with beans that was it. Had a good day but it honestly felt kinda uneventful . Maybe I'm just a pot snob but I expected way more out of hightimes. Their staff was clueless. Bottom line .

Man what a negative attitude, I'm sure thats why you didn't enjoy yourself. Yes the first day was a bit disorganized at the gates, but I only waited in line for 45 minutes and didn't really care cus I just smoked a couple joints with my buddies that came, and some ladies from the CO licensing board. I didn't make it 5 feet in the gate before I found a gorgeous Pink gandolf pipe with 24 crt gold fumed stars on it which my wife absolutely loved. Only cost $25 bucks and was nicely made, the blower was there and we talked for a few before he let me sample his kosher kush, and then gave me a .5 to taste with my wife.

Walked a little farther down the way and got my hightimes gift bag, sadly no buds in it hopefully by next year. There were some great displays of new technology, including the first power trimmer I have ever given a second thought. This unit allows actual precision of hand trimming while allowing you to do larger quantities faster then scissors. I sadly couldn't make it into the medical area which was sad however with some diligents I was able to find seeds in a few other places. Granddaddy purple genetics was selling seeds openly, all they had left when I got there was some "Bay11" which I split a pack of with my buddy. Then a few booths down we found the jack pot! Sin City Seeds had a booth where they were Raffaling off a bunch of glass and other stuff. Well when you bought a raffle ticket for $40 you got to pick a pack of seeds too for free. So me and my buddy each bought 2 tickets. Then split our packs of seeds so we each got all 4 genetics they had. I managed to score a pack of Sinmints which is at the bottom of that last link. That made my day, I've wanted to get my hands on some form of the girl scout cookie genetics, and this seems like it should be super dank.

So after getting genetics my trip was mostly complete. I was slightly disappointed that there wasn't hardly any actual bud there. However once I found "dab city" I didn't care much more. "Dab City" was a huge area outdoors with basically bars set up with about 15-20 beautiful glass bongs and oil rigs all around. They each had someone sitting there providing free dabs of oil, shatter, and wax from various different genetics. Just about each station was a different flavor, it was amazing. I had never dabbed oil, only smoked it on a bowl or blunt. The flavor was what really blew my mind, it was so clean and pure absulutely amazing. This inspired me to buy a simple oil rig for my new bong, and I'm so happy I did. I tried it out last night when I got home with some blond charas I had here, and OMG its so much better then any other method I've tried.

Sooooo thats just a slight taste of everything there, it would take all day to talk about it all, but to put it simply I will be going again next year and I think it will be even better! I said it last night and I'll say it again First US Cannabis Cup was LEGEN..................Wait for it :takes a hash rip on the bong:..................DARY!

Sorry for the negative attitude but I thought it sucked. I'm sure I'm not the only one either . It just didn't feel like it was anything groundbreaking to me. I can do dabs and smoke joints anywhere here , I don't need to be stuffed inside a lot with way to many people to do it. Nobody had a clue what was going in there as far as staff goes . In my twenties , sure I would have liked it but in my thirties, no thanks. Kinda reminds me of bonnaroo, over crowded and over priced .

lol it was a public social event. Sure I could smoke at home to, and it would have been cheaper and less crowded. I guess thats the point of going to events. Just like any music fest its gonna be busy and cost money. Sorry you didn't enjoy, the guys I was with were surprised at how busy it was too, but it never crossed my mind I expected it. I've seen pictures from the amsterdam cup and it looked the exact same way.

The actual medical area required a redcard, or a red braclet which showed you had a med card, and they had people at the gate checking for them. Dab City was right next to the medical area and was awesome and delicious!

Ahh ok, so the place with the fake nurses wasn't the actual medical area ? lol they gave me free medicine and all

i was there....and wow! how they say this is medicine, i dont understand...lol
first let me say, ive only been smoking and growing since 2005, so a beginner and a liteweight.
i got in line about 9am saturday, and the pot was going around there. puff puff pass till noon when they opened.
i was the highest i ever been and i wasnt in the place yet!
i didnt get far, when i found the dab set ups, my first time dadding...i problly did 10 dabs, the crowd started getting thick so i found a place to sit under a tent with a local guy, who was incharge of something, we were both old farts and hit it off. he had a vap pen and i toked off it for a while and serval joints that were passing by. my last puff was a 5 foot tube that was passed to me, i cleared it, but it finished me off.
i barley made it out alive, for a minute or 2 i thought i was gunna go down! my mind was telling me i was gunna be the first overdose death from pot in history. this was at 2 pm.

i hand a 2 mile walk ahead of me to get back to the hostel, no way i could have made it. i seen a guy with a bike taxi.....i had to get him to call my wife, i couldnt remember where i was staying. i gave my pass for sunday to him, for bringing me back. i had seen enough of the cup.

this old boy will just stay home and smoke his homegrown, yall pot is too much for this liteweight.

and by the way....denver is a nice place! clean and freindly
