CANNABIS GROWERS HELP!

HELP
My Led light fell from the ceiling and hit 3 plants .. 2 of my biggest , 1 looks like it’ll recover no wilting so far (only been 2 hours since incident) . 2 looks like she wont make it but it’s my first grow . It’s a mainline so 4 colas look great . Other 4 look VERY sad almost ready to give up on them but I won’t just yet I was able to cover wounds up within 5 minutes using no supplements and black duct tape . I did foliar a very light silica mix. I am growing in DWC . 5 weeks veg starting 2nd week flower . What do you guys think? When she make it or not ? All the wilting within 5 minutes was VERY corncering . I’m pretty sure I was able to tape them together good enough wasn’t sure if too tight or not tight enough. What do you guys think ?

I did not take pictures of the split I was very anxious and mad . Just know they are deep splits only directly in the middle of the manifold .

If the stem where it is broken is only partly broken, like there is still some connection there where the plant can move water and nutrients that it needs, then it will heal itself. If there is little to no pathway for it to get what it needs to that part of the plant, then it will not be worth it to salvage te broken part. You will know within a day whether or not it is going to recover that part. If the leaves perk back up in a day or two, then you're good (just be careful and keep the support in place). If the leaves don't perk back up, then I would amputate, so it can focus its resources on the part that is still healthy. Try to support it in a way that keeps the stress of the weight it is carrying off of the broken area.

Good luck!

It was never completely severed off . That I do know . Was the zip ties a good idea or would that be too tight on the plant?

The only problem I have to that I thought it completely went down the middle . If that was the case then I guess one side wouldn’t have died off like that now would it ?

Def don't crank them down on the stem. It's hard to know how much extra support structure you need without being there to inspect. If you remove the zip ties be super careful and use some good snips, so you don't further damage the stem by pulling, squeezing, or cutting.

So what’s your advice ? Remove zip ties now or remove them in a day or so . I only used them after the duct tape because I didn’t think it was tight enough . Should’ve maybe taped a little of harder or what can you tell for my pictures does the tape look fine ? I just felt a little leaning toward the wrong way without the zip ties . I can switch to soft pretty soon I guess . How long before you think the zip ties start negatively affecting the plants ?

@PadawanWarrior chime in please . Need all advice possible

Got some soft ties coming in the mail . Got that Amazon prime. The plant should do more healing than fattening right? Because I know wire can bend into plant I I caught that earlier on during first stage of mainlining until those plant get ties here. I’ve been meaning to get some . I figure I should leave them until I get the soft ties right ?shouldn’t be more than 48-72 hours from the major split anyway I’m just asking questions I know you guys are more experienced .

2 of 3 splits were equally deep as hell . Just surprised to see that one die off like that genetics have to play a clue to that right ? One is sativa one is Indica

They'll be fine for a few days, until you get the soft ties. No worries.

Define medical tape give me a brand store where you got it . I’ve been reading people getting get results from both methods. Hopefully that impact from my light just wasn’t too damaging . It hurt bad just watching it. And seeing that main split like that . Guess I’ll update a couple days in the future . Really hope I don’t lose half a plant I lost half a plant 3 week ago mainling.

Plants for also super cropped as you can see in earlier pictures ? Felt pretty sturdy although wasn’t sure it was fully healed tbh. Really noticed NEW short strong root growth night before this tragedy . Wasn’t sure if that was from my diy 2L co2 or just my week 1.5-2 flower symptoms . Really was hoping for a pound off my 400 watt LED set up .

CVS I think, 3M brand, also known as micro pore tape...found in most any drugstore. Breathable fabric tape; same as you would to use to tape a gunshot wound w/gauze....yep. you are def headed for a pound.. good luck & happy growing
