I follow a method similar to poplars. I use Bacardi 151, sugarleaf and bud. Bud gets ground up, 1oz in a 1 qt mason jar(wrapped in electrical tape to keep out light), fill with rum, shake 1-2X a day for about 6 weeks. I have been told this longer period allows for the cannabinoids other than THC to disolve as well. I know that I have better pain relief(I have fibromyalgia) when I let it sit 6 weeks but haven't noticed any difference from letting it sit longer(I've gone up to 9 weeks). Anyway, I strain, press the material, and strain again using coffee filters and then simmer it over low heat on the sideburner of my bbq OUTSIDE(VERY flammable! Have a lid ready for your pan to smother it, should it ignite. An electric burner would be better) to decarboxylate and concentrate. Warming usually lasts about 5-10 minutes. Let it cool and bottle.
I use brown glass ticture bottles that are 2 oz. bottles and have a dropper. I add 1 tsp of honey per 2oz bottle and it not only flavors it nicely but also cuts the burn by 75%. I have a VERY high tolerance, but 2 dropper fulls under the tounge, then a swish around the mouth, followed by a little drink of water and I'm good to go. It is so palatable that my wife and mom(both NEVER smoked in their lives) have been using it too for back/joint pain and as a sleep aid as well.
