cannabisseeds.com bad germination

Hey Everyone,

First time grower here, just got white widow seeds from cannabisseeds.com

I've tried every method of germinating these, I've tried to germinate 4 of them and none will germinate.

I've tried the 2 plates method, the cup method and I've left them for a week, and nothing at all, none of them germinated.

I've put them into rockwell, but I'm sure nothing is going to happen, I think I've been skanked with these seeds. Does anyone have any experience with this website?

no never have always have dealt with attitude seeds but you presoaked them? by this i mean let them sit in water for 24hrs?

Hmm, I've used two different methods for these seeds.

For the first two, I've placed them in between two wet paper towels between two plates and left for a week, checking on them every day, and no luck.

I put the other two into two different glasses of distilled water, that was kinda warm, and left them for a week, but no luck.

Yesterday, I decided enough was enough and just put all of them into rockwell to see will anything happen, although I'm sure they have not cracked yet.

This is really annoying for me as its my first grow and I have co2 dispensers, 250W HPS and everything ready for them.

wow sounds like you got some shitty seeds man! im sorry to hear that do you have more?

I've got 8 more.

Yeah, when I first got them, I thought a few looked mutant, and a few looked immature.

Can anyone recommend a good "budget" seed bank?

Dont dismiss the seeds yet. It can take a while for your seeds to germ. Paper towels are for mopping up spillages! If you are growing in soil use jiffy plugs to germ your seeds. If you growing hydro, germ straight into rockwool. Paper towels are for amateurs. Remember it can take time.

I'm growing with soil. I just left them into rockwell and kept them damp, because I'm pretty sure those 4 seeds are dead, if they weren't dead when I got them.

If they crack or make any change, I'll take them out of the rockwell.

I'll try get some jiffy plugs in the headstore. I'm starting to think these seeds may have a germination inhibitor so that could be why they arn't germinating.
 
Paper towel method is best but it works much better if you leave your tv on and place on top where its warm, Ya Id go with The attitude seedbank. Ive only ordered 2 times, 1 g13 white widow, 1 barneys farm lsd, 2 freebie LA womans feminized but all are growing wildly and all females.

Paper towel method is so flawed its unbelievable, any method of germing a seed that involves handling the seed, is asking for trouble. Tap roots are fragile so why risk damaging them? There are numerous threads on starting seeds, have a read and you will see why paper towels really are for amateur growers.

Just stating what has worked well for me. Ive never had an issue 100% always sprout.
 
I used to use paper towels myself mate. Until one day i had a problem with a batch of seeds. Upon taking advice on here, i tried jiffy plugs, i aint looked back since. If you look into the science behind germination, you will see where i am coming from.

Just wondering, does anyone have any experience with the cannabisseeds.com seed bank?

If so, what were your germination rates? surely I can't be the only one with this problem...
 
ive grown with cannabisseeds.com over this past summer along with stuff from attitude and nirvana. IF ur looking for high quality seeds from cannabisseeds.com ur looking in the wrong direction, for 20 dollars for 12 seeds what do u expect. I bought the 60 pack of seeds for 55 dollars. all of the super silver haze didnt germ, most of the other seeds germed including the white widow, but alot of them died as seedling, Strain was alright but your only going to get 1 or 2 good females out of a pack of 12. Atttitide seeds got me a good white widow, very strong and a nice fruity smell, ive got it growing in my room and u cant even smell it. Nirvanas seeds were also pretty good, ive got a NL from them and its growing very nice
 
I am an amateur...but I used paper towel method and germinated 7 out of 7...3 out of the 7 were female and are now 3 wks in flower...so it will work if you have good seeds, I would guess.
 
I use the paper towel method, and have great success...but I have deft fingers too. I put them in folded, moist paper towel, then put that in a sandwich bag, and stuff the lot into my computer case for a couple of days, and I've always had good luck. With rockwool, I actually only have about a 1 in 3 success rate so far.
 
Thanks for the info Bigol'Bong. Thought that deal with cannabis seeds.com looked too good to be true. Always had very good luck with marijuana-seeds.nl. Good germ rate, good genetics, good female ratio, and reasonable prices.

When doing the paper towel method its good to keep the seeds in a warm place. I have used rockwool and jiffy cubes to germinate too, but always find the warmer the temp, the faster they crack with whatever medium you use!.
 
I too got white widows and some med strain # something fropm cannabiseeds and actually got 7 ww and 6 of the med to germ....in paper towels. So far, I've had to pull all but 3 widows and 4 meds that went male but the others are looking good. All under 12/12 floros for about 10 days so all should be showing their sex soon......
Yeah, the seeds from that seed bank are cheap with mixed results. I used dope-seeds .com for other beans, autos, and the first batch haas been super.....nugs by christmas!
 
Just letting you guys know the update.

Out of a pack of 12, 1 seed germinated and appears to have excellent genetics, growing very fast, sprouted in 6 hours. Its 2 weeks old now, but it is very good, I think I just got lucky! :)

Anyways, thanks for your help guys, I'll never use cannabisseeds.com again!
 
how you should go and check out greenman's seedbankupdate.. he lists all the seedbanks that he has heard good things about, and also lists those whom he has heard negative things about or not enough about in order to give a recomendation for them.. right there on his site he lists cannabisseeds.com as one that he does not recomend.. i have never used or heard anything about them, i just went and checked on his site for you to see what he says.. go ahead to his site and check out who he may recomend..
