CannaButter from a male plant??? Can I??

Ive been told that if my plant turns out to be a male i can use it to make cannabutter because the THC content is too low smoke but with enough plant can make the butter. First off, is this correct? Second, if my plant is male will it have more THC if i let if flower longer. I only have 1 plant so to me it doesnt matter. How long should i let it flower if it is male and i want to make cannabutter with it?

i dont know but i always advocate to making brownies rather than the butter.... the cheap betty crocker .88cent ones always work PERFECT...

take the plant matter minus stems, dry it, and chop it up or grind it... ... and simmer it in oil (according to the directions in the box)for 3-4 hours, hot bot not frying.... take that and throw it into the brownie mix (i dnt strain it, it's so crisp you won't notice it) mix it up and make them brownies.... munchie time... it might not get you crazy high like the space brownies in amsterdam, but you will feel a nice buzzzzzz

I myself have not had any luck using males to make any kind of butter or oil. I suppose if you had a bunch of them and made a concentrated oil or butter out of them it maybe worth it but with one plant I personally dont think I would waste the time.

1. you can still smoke males, they just dont have as MUCH thc as fem, so you have to smoke more to get more baked.
2. Nup, you just get more pollen and crap like that :weed:
3. Let it go for as long/ short as you want, no differance, unless you want more weed to bake with.

btw, BROWNIES FWARKING ROCK!!!

what he said but once the topportion starts flowering it won't grow more anyways and you'll have pollen all over the place (no worries if you don't have any other plants) check this old illustration for the portions of the plant that are most potent.

It is not worth the trouble, start over with a proper female plant.
Best advice in this thread. Males contain enough THC to, MAYBE, get an ant a buzz. They're basically useless, except for breeding purposes. If you make butter or oil, all you'll get is a nasty plant taste with no effects at all. Ditch the males.

So, I recently grew a plant that was supposed to be feminized, but turned out male once I put it into flowering stage. cut it off low and hung the entire plant upside down to dry. after about 3 days I chopped it up into manageable bits, and threw is in a 210 degree oven for about an hour. Then, I put the chopped up bits into a glass jar and added enough coconut oil to just more than cover the plant, put the lid on, and dropped the jar in a crockpot of simmering water for 4 hours. After the four hours I poured everything through a double layer of strong paper towels, and squeezed out as much excess as i could. Ended up with roughly 2 cups of infused oil. I added 8oz. of cocoa powder and roughly 3/4 cup of agave syrup(given the texture I will use a powdered sweetener next time, and possibly a little heavy cream), and blended well. I spooned this into molds and the excess onto a sheet of wax paper, and put it in the freezer to chill. I ended up with a very "dark" chocolate somewhere between the texture of a chocolate bar and a ganache. I've had STRONGER highs from purchased edibles, but never one that kicked in this fast, nor lasted any longer. ALL OF MY LEAF AND STEM WILL GO INTO OIL FROM NOW ON!! Do not let anyone tell you those parts and Male plants are useless...

I was wondering at what point did you harvest the male plant? I have just discovered that my only plant is male. So there is not a und for it to

Hello The Glass Witch
At what point did you harvest your male plant? I have just discovered my only plant is male. So, I'm not worried about it causing seeds in any other plants. Should I let it empty the pollen sacks and let the plant mature more, or just grind it up right away?
I have , in the past, used CBD plant material to make some great salves. I ground up the plant material when the plant was at full maturity. Did not know if maturity mattered with THC concentration. Thanks!
