Cant come to a decision(CFL)

I needed your guys' opinion on which CFL's to get for my 2'x3' space, the height is 4'. Oh yea, this will only be used for vegging. since i have a 400 watt HPS. I am debating between two 105 watt CFL's which are full spectrum (5000k and 6,900 lumens) or two 105 watt CFL cool white(4100k 6,900 lumens)?? I also noticed that they offer the mogul base which are for HID setups. Would one of those Mogul CFL work on a yield master 400 watt HPS with a 400 HPS ballast?? :confused:

I currently have four 26 watt cool white(6500k)cfl's and four regular 26 watt cfl's

I dont think i would try the mogul base cfl in an hps ballast. I have seen those and there are ballasts available for them....hence i would use the proper one, just to not risk any sort of electrical fire......better safe than sorry you know.

yes agreed! I was kind of iffy about it to. Do you have any insight on which of the two cfl's would be better for my growing? Or will what i currently have be enough to get them going before i kick in that 400 watt HPS???

Go with the cool white spec, is great for veg and you cna keep your cfls 1 in from plants. I use 2 200watt and 2 400WattMH for veg and my new 200wcfls grow a much nicer plant and accualy the growth is very close to a MH. your CFLS should have there own ballast, just go get a simple socket/shade and all u need to do is plug into 120V 15amp plug in.. Your ballest is wired/attached to compac lighting when it goes 120Watts. In Canada the 200W compac goes for $99 in hydroppnic stores and 125W goes for 75. 200W makes a HUGee difference! go that route. Heres a pic of 200W in action.

Hi, go with the compact fluorescent 200watt full spec.. You will be happy.
Yup all under 2 200watts. Notice the 4 plants in the back ground, maybe not able to see all four but the larger plants in the back were grown under those lights in 2 weeks.. There strong health intronode spacing grown at the right pace!!!
The plants in the red cups are a VERY rare home made outdoor strain that flowers under 24 light and yeild 2-3ounce a plant thats harvest in first of October.. This plant is great, it also stays VERY SHORT about 2feet.. The strain beside them looking a little biger also in red cups is 20 Cronic clones at 1 1/2 week, straight water, and kinda neglected. then the bigger ones in the back are a berry kush something somthing. And in flower (illshowpick is a jack herrer) WOW THC is high but does not pack very much... heres a pic.

Very,very nice!:blsmoke: Hopefully one day ill be somewhat near that! Now one more question? Will upgrading to the 200 watt CFL make the plant veg a little faster, or will it produce increasingly more veg. in the same amount of time as the lower wattage CFL's??

I think im interperating your question right, do u mean 2 ask, if upgrading does the 200Wcompac grow a faster stronger plant during the veg stage.. If thats what u ask sure does.. I place mine close enough 1 ich from plants and they compeate with my 400MH's.. I use MHs for when I go into 2 gallons because they cover more space..
BTW. If you want to go like I have, remeber just go do it.... Cost me about 5k to start up but thats becuase I build a fake wall, then i used for one season and took down, now i go open in basement.. Just go do it!, you will not regreat it, unless u get busted lol.

I know that a 125watt is not as good as a 200Watt, but if you are going to swtich (types of lights) HID, or Flour, HPS etc, than there is a differnnce between which watt is better. Ex 200Wcompac close cool white, or sun, is better upclose thne a 400WHID MH. Anymore quetion, understand? i dont know if I explain myself very well.

Yes thank you very much, you have answered my question! Well so far i have the 400 watt HPS, which i will use during flowering and four 26 watt cool white cfl's and four 26 watt cfl, which i will use for vegging. I will order those 200 watt cfl's a little later since im pretty strapped for cash. Do you think those cfl's will hold me over for now? I also use the sun for lighting, since i dont live with my parents.

sure, another idea that you can do is use work your system like this..
You have your strain in flower for 8weeks, make sure you give yourself a 2week peirod to get clones or to have clones rooting, so that you cna veg under your flour lights for 6weeks then maybe an adition 1 week under your HPS and you should have a decent root mass to promote a decent yeild. Good thing is, the flour will sure produce a slow even growth.. I did that with my last crop, except they veg for 2M and then 2weeks under a 400MH and then under my 1000'sHPS and lol, they made my 3gallon pots look small, since the root mass was so extravegant when they veged under the same flour lighting as you. It may not look like the roots are getting to big, but they network and watch them explode once u introduce them into HID lighting.
Good luck, and DEF getthe 200Wcompa, it will sure make a huge diff.

Thnx again! BTW, what do u think of those 150 watt Agrosun daypsots, i recently saw one on ebay for $26 with shipping included. Do you think one of those would be worth getting?
