Can't figure out whats goin on with my little guy

Hey guys, I had a few plants going on a ghetto setup before I got my tent and lights and stuff. This main plant has been under CFL's for at least a few weeks and its still small (maybe 10"). It started having problems with the bottom leaves turning dry and bright yellow and now they are drying and flaking away. If you close in the pictures, you can see some pistils, so it is definitely a female... The pistils started showing only in the last few days. I've only been watering it every 5 days or so. I just watered and added a few teaspoons of bat guano because it looked like nutrient deficiency to me (from looking at others pictures, and the FAQ here). I watered last night, and this morning it doesn't appear that it is improving any.. maybe even spreading a little higher in the leaves... It is in a container that is about 4 gallons and the roots bottomed out (very FULL SPIDER-WEB like roots) over 8 or 9 days ago... you think it needs a bigger container!? (AT only 10"?) Is it in healthy enough state that I could try to take some clones off of it? Or should I try to start flowering? Is there any point on a plant that small? Being that my HPS/MHS setup is coming on monday, I'm thinking it might be best to just try to get some clones off of it and start clean with my new setup (getting rid of CFL's). Any opinions would be much appreciated... This is my 1st plant ever, so I have a bit of emotional attachment to it, so I would love to make her healthy again and flower or clone her..

Purple stems are bad, what is the PH when you feed?

Also Bat Guano does not work over night, it can take about two weeks to break down into the soil for your plant to uptake the N.

The PH is 6.5. What do purple stems suggest? The thing probably hasn't grown an inch in a week... its just stuck. I am considering transplanting it into a LITTLE bit bigger of a pot (probably another gallon... thats all i have). I feel like I'm going to mess it up if I do though... Since I just watered it yesterday, its really moist too... Now I'm wondering if it is nutrient burnt? I haven't given it any nutrients, besides yesterday, since probably its 2nd week(its probably 4-5 weeks old), but i'm wondering if maybe I gave it too much then. (this is my 1st plant ever) I don't know what to do... it doesn't look like its doing good though.

Also, I have a water meter that rates on a 1-10 scale. 10 is completely soaked, 1 is desert sand. It says 4-6 is moist. Well, If i push it all the way to the bottom of my pot it reads 5, but if I only push it 2 knuckles in, it is like 2 or 3. When should I water it? I've heard that it if it is getting dry 2 knuckles in to water it... My soil in my new pots is 30% perlite, 70% organic soil and it is drying out a lot faster, but I just don't know when to water...

It probably doesn't need a new container unless your 4 gallon container is very shallow and wide. It looks like a deficiency maybe N. Next time you water the plant make sure you get some run-off and test the ph level of the run-off water. If the run-off ph is good then it might be a nute deficiency but i doubt it since the plant is not very old.

When it comes to watering, i just use common sense and check if the soil is dry up to a few inches. Also the pot should be significantly lighter.

The new growth looks fine, don't worry over much about the old growth. Worry if the new growth starts looking bad.

As was mentioned, guano doesn't work overnight. Give it a couple of weeks at least.

Yes, by all means do some clones. It's good practice and the cutting/topping will stimulate growth. Don't remove over 30% of the plant even if that means you only take 1 clone. For every cut, you will get 2 new growths.
