You ever watch a little kid trying to put a square through a round hole than eventually figuring out it fit in the square hole? My point being you have all the tools you need, now figure out how to use them

Thanks vp, I been messing with bho for some time now andthe way I do it is real basic and simple. I dont vacpurge.
No vac, just classic whip, heat. Strain is Sour D x BlueBerry, my cross.
I thought about doing a step by step on how I make it but to be perfectly honest I am a little paranoid about doing that since it is illegal to extract using butane. Also I would not want someone who never ran it try it and have an explosion. But there are a lot of little tricks and tweeks I do to get it like that, if you have any question shoot me a PM.

at what temperature do you do it? and for how long? how fresh is the starting material?
you do realize youre in the concentrates and extracts section??? and that a lot of the guys reading your post are blasting 100+ cans of butane a week or have tami set ups.... were not beginners here, we know what were doing. we just need the finer details.
if I had to guess, id say those are all tiny tiny tiny microscopic whipped air bubbles while it was in the middle of purging and/or bubbling due to heat and whipping, and it somehow dried out in the process.. possibly by flash freezing? or by a longgg time at a heat near 100F??? to be honest, that doesnt look 100% purged to me. what do others here think? the bubbles are different sizes.
definitely some nice light colors there which makes me think it was made with fairly fresh bud, a sativa, and hasnt been exposed to any temps over 100F.. right?

i think fmly has got it.. when you whip, you can pretty much get an excellent judgement on the stage of process. keep heats in a good range, and keep consistent working it, but you can over work it.. be carefuller, just like you can over vac/heat it.. but i think in whipping techniques, and low heat, over-whipping really just destroys the potential honeycomb structure, rather than make it all gooey/sticky..
ive been playing around with the whip/vac. i gotta say. its lovely..
heard a fascinating idea that uses no vac. just a pie pyrex, some whip, heat, and to finish it off, low heat oven, and place your pie dish upside down, bubbles fall right out, and you have honeycombsss.
gotta have some whipping experience though so you can judge when to flip..
ya, ive given this a try, and once again, gotta say, i love it... like fade has mentioned, fish traps
i think only heat and vacuum have been my easiest ways of making oil.. but also longest..
its alllll about removing dem bubbles.. and making sure not to over heat, over-agitate it..

I do realize that I am in a concentrate section, I am more worried about the people who never ran and want to run. you ever hear KISS, Keep It Simple Stupid? Not calling you or anyone here stupid. I use to vac purge, track temps all that shit. Now I just keep it simple, hot water, whip, scrape sit, hot water, whip scrape and sit, and I repeat that a few times till I have that milky state. As far as smoking it, you can tell very easily if your stuff isnt cured and fully purged of impurities. I have not had any complaints and dispensaries around here in Cali gobble it up.

how long would you say this took ? from the time of packing the tube, to scraping your wax.. no breaks right?

im guessing around 2-4 hours. and we all know how much purging can be done in 3 hours without a vacuum......

Vac, as far as materials, once I am done trimming a harvested plant, once the material is dried I run it. I do put my tube in the freezer prior to purging. I also bring a pot of water to a boil and once its boiling I put the burner on low heat to maintain the water at a hot temp. Once I am done running the butane through the material and its all in the pyrex dish, thats when I put the hot water in the other pyrex dish. My dishes are usually frozen stuck together at first but once the hot water is in there, it will free up. Then I take the dish and move it around and once I see it bubbling up, then I start whipping, for approximately 15 minutes straight then I scrape it all in a pile and let it sit for about 10 min in the sun. Then I repeat whith whip and scrape. At the same time I am making sure my hot water get swapped out after each sitting. Once I get that milky creamy look to it, I let it sit in the sun for about an hour. Then I bring it inside and put it on my cable box for a day and it ready after that. I like it better than vac purge and its much smoother.
I dont use old trimming or anything like that. I use mostly popcorn buds and sugar leaves.

hmm interesting. youve never broken a glass dish by introducing boiling water to a piece of glass with frost and ice on the outside of it?
I dont see how it could be smoother than vac purging... vac purging should make it harsh, although it might take some of the flavors away.
looks like good stuff though. how much material do you run? with how much butane? 2 ozs and 2 cans sorta thing?
