Can't keep the humidity up on clones!!!

Check the pick. I've had these for a day and they seem to be getting worse and worse. The dome doesn't seem to be retaining moisture. What am I doing wrong?? Got the T5 about 6 inches away with only one bulb working. No water in the plate, just wet cubes. I mist the inside of the dome and the plants themselves. I'm clueless. Temp, steady 73, humidity's at 31% and won't go up.

If your grow room is anywhere near a faucet you can crank on some hot water and let it steam up a bit. I grow out of a room that has a bathroom attached. I have humidity issues at times, and it works.

and notice your dome comes off the table on the corners....

Get the rest of the lights on. Trim the fan leaves. Seal the dome when it's over the plants. A small heating pad under the plants may help as well.

your dome needs to be air tight to hold the humidity. I can see it hanging over the edge of the table.

So you think the corners of the dome are the problem?? I've noticed that when people use siran wrap to cover, they leave room for air, but the gaps they leave are above the plants, not below, like the corners of my dome. I don't know if this effects the humidity or not. I moved everything to a table and put a cup of hot water in there and the dome is fogging up but the humidity on the hygrometer isn't changing. I"ll give it a few minutes. Thanx for your help.

Heat helps water to evaporate faster, thereby increasing R.H. I use a heat mat under the tray and an open cup of water next to the plants. Because it is heated it helps. Adding a cup of water without the heat probably won't do shit.

Those dual zone thermometers/hygrometers are actually only dual zone for the temps. That is to say, the remote probe doesn't measure humidity. The 31% is actually the humidity outside of the dome.

The plants are falling over because the stems are fresh growth (hadn't hardened off) and there is too much foliage for the cuttings to support. Trim off the larger fan leaves and leave only a couple nodes. They might not stand up straight, but they'll perk up. Next time take smaller clones.

Also, since they are brand new cuttings from the plant, they will be stressed and that will make them droop. With no roots they cannot take in water from the cut stem, they must take it through their leaves. Once your set up can hold in humidity they will be happy and then they will grow some roots for you. Good luck

Just simply turn the dome to where it fits fully on the table top. Look at Pic attached

If that don't work maybe get a peice of cardboard to put underneath it.

You can also drop that light right to the top of the dome.

Once you get the dome fully sealed from fresh air, give it a couple hours and your babies should perk up and stand near straight up.

Yup, you are reading the humidity on the outside of the dome. Put the instrument on the inside of the dome if you want to monitor the humidity around your clones. Then you are reading the 'in' digits.
