cant tell if they are hungry or to full!

ok have a few babies that need some help and I am not quite yet fluent in the plant language! a few show N deff and one shows the tiniest little burn on the tip of the leaves. two show a ndef along with the tips of the leaves curling up and being dry( bit crispy).
I have all of the in Jiffy organic seed starting mix.contains
45 to 55% sphagnum peat moss
45 to 55% vermiculite and lime for ph balance
Organic wetting agent
it say the peat moss if from Canada.

Nutes are MG al purpose plant food 24-8-16


I have gave them first nutes on day 11 at 1/8 the recommended dose for indoor plants( I thought this was 1/4 at the time but the realized different. Recommended full dosage for indoor plants is 1/2 teaspoon/ gallon) this is what they looked likeDSCN2560.jpgDSCN2566.jpgDSCN2563.jpgDSCN2559.jpg
so yesterday was next water day and I noticed that some are showing what i believe are N deff

One show a burn of some kind

two others are well I have no idea yellow at the tips and canoing up also they are crispy

the rest seem fine
although they are not a lush and as green as I would like them to be but that prob because I have minimal light right now.
I t12 fixture 4 ft hold two 4o watt floros
I have daylight tubes in them right now I believe 6500k
and I standard flourecent the light looks purplish not sure what the wattage is but its only 24in.
22 babies and oh forgot to mention one that i rescued from a public rest place. maybe 3 wks old not sure. so 23 in all. what do u think is wrong with them?

should i flush them i dont have that much standing water and no money for gallons of water. can i use tap to flush with?

Yeah, i would look for a good line of organic fertilizers like fox farms, dr. earth, roots organics, earth safe, and of course, earthworm castings...

All those chemicals in the MG fert are bad for microbes in the soil.. What soil are you using?

seedlings shouldnt need food for AT LEAST 2-3 weeks... your using a mix designed for seedlings. I would have to agree your slightly over fed. ths is causing both your tip burn/ yellowing and your curling/retarded leafs... let them dry a little then gve them a good flush. make sure you have plenty of run off. f your going to go with MG go with MG organic feed...24-8-16 cut down 1/8 is at 3-1-2. Thats not a bad ratio for early veg but you still shouldnt have needed it yet... like I said give them a flush with str8 ph'd 6.8 water, gve them a few days to dry back out as they will probably wilt slightly. water again. by the next watering you should by ths time be ready for a light feeding. would really recommend switching from your all purpose MG. GH make a good beginner 3 part line. Best advice to give is let your plants tell you they are hungry when you are new to growing. When she starts getting hungry she will most certainly tell you its time to feed her. once she says she hungry ts time to get on a weekly feeding schedule.

You really don't need to flush and stress them more, just STOP feeding them!!!!

They are way too small for nutes yet. It's like trying to force feed an infant a 28oz T-bone steak.

Water them well, and leave them be. At that size and in those cups, it should be at least 3 days before they need water and probably closer to 5 days.

You are 'loving' them to death. Learn some patience and leave them alone to grow.

really depends on what the ph of your tap water is... dont flush with distilled if you dont have a way to raise the ph.

lol but he does need to flush those nasty non organic nutes from his organic soil. t will also wash out the excess fertilizers.... if you over feed you flush. If you dont flush the next time you water your giving them the same damn nutes!

when plants are that young they really don't need any nutrients the soil should have plenty in them all ready for like a month or even more

so i should wait till they need their next watering then flush them and let them dry. or flush them now and then let them dry out?

so then i should flush tomorrow I watered them yesterday morning and it takes about 3-4 day for them to feel light again.

they'd probably be ok if you simply back off on the nutes for a minute. they don't look bad enough to really need a flushing.

i'd just transplant them to bigger pots and let them chill for a week or 2. ;)

I agree, but he only used a 1/8 strength dose, 1 time of those "nasty non organic nutes", and I don't feel that that's enough of a *overfeed* to warrant a flush right now. Plus, he doesn't have squat for light (1-4' T-12, 2ft ?).

IMO, flushing them and that waterlogging effect would more stressful than just stopping the food till the plants get bigger and the OP can upgrade his lighting.

An occasional use of Jack's Classic in my organic mix doesn't seem to hurt much of anything. The soil herd is tougher than most people give them credit for, but, you don't keep dumping stuff on them, they're not THAT tough. LOL

Ok to get things straight I am a she not a he.lol and for the light i have 1 fixture that hold 2 4 ft 40watt daylight floro tubes and 1 standard 2 foot floro.not sure what the color spec is but wattage is 20 gonna get another 4 ft fixture in about a week only 20 $ at wally- farts for the fixture and tubes! I will just wait till the next watering and if they show any more burn then i will flush if not i will just water them really good maybe a partial flush as not to shock or stress them.
