Carbon filter and ventillation ???

Hey People

So ive got a question about some equipment i bought.
I bought a can lite 150m3/h carbon filter(http://www.canfilters.nl/english/lite150pl.html) and a Vents VKO 185m3/h(http://www.ventilation-system.com/item/1914/Vents_125_VKO_turbo/) for exhaust ,
After installing i bnoticed it was getting too hot in the room .. like 29.5 C ,
I have a 150w hps and 4 23w cfls in there and without the filter my temps stay around 25. Ballast is mounted outside the tent.
My tent is 44cm*89cm*110cm
When i blow smoke towards the filter itslef it doesnt seem to be suking it up ..
Oh also without the filter theres noticable negative pressure in the room cause the tents sides are drawn inwards.
Anyway any suggestions would be helpful.

Can had a problem for a while where squirrels were getting stuck in the filter bodies. Get that squirrel out of there and you'll be fine.

Your fan sucks. The filter has a rating in cubic meter per minute, and i have a feeling you got tricked by the similar cubic meter per HOUR of the fan.

But also if there IS a squirrel in there, you'd get a similar result.

Looks like you bought an inline fan. Those may be useful for simple ventilation and maybe even for lights, but inline fans cannot generate the pressure needed to push or pull air through things, a carbon filter being a great example of one of those things.

Centrifugal fans are the most common type of fan used when pressure is needed. The fan recommended with your filter (per the website you posted) is the Can-Fan RS 200 (https://simplyhydroponics.com.au/specials/item/540-centrifugal-fan-can-fan-rs200-8-200mm.html). I'm sure you can find it cheaper on another website. I'd also go with a hyperfan instead if you can. That is what your going to want though.

You have been smoking squirel dude.

"I noticed my piece of shit fan wasn't moving enough air (because it can't overcome the static pressure of the flow resistance of the filter BTW) and my room is getting hot."

So I reduced the size of my intake???!!!

Someone didn't pay attention in physics class.

if you want to use that filter, you need a better exhaust fan. if without filter it creates negative pressure, you might need a passive intake hole at the bottom of the box

however, that's a pretty small setup . any pics?
