Carbon filter/fan set-up help

My tent is 3 X 3 X 5 and i want to maximize grow space in there. I just bought a carbon filter/inline fan combo. I would like to set it up with the fan and filter outside the tent.

So inside the tent i would have tubing connecting from my cooling tube, then exhausted out the top to the filter which will be connected to the fan. Im sure having the fan inside would keep smell down a little better but this set-up still has the fan pulling the air thru the filter.

Anyone seen this work or am i wasting my time?

That will work just fine. The only thing is that the Pre-filter is on the outside of the carbon filter. No biggie, just larger particles with not be pre-filtered out.

Thanks for the reply. Im gonna try it like that at first, if smell becomes an issue ill hang it inside. I have my own place so its more or less to keep the odor from engulfing my entire place.
