Carbon filter IN a sealed grow room

I have a sealed room, but as most of you probably know, there's no such thing as 100% when it comes to sealing a room. So some of the odor still leaks out.

I was thinking to get an inline fan and a big carbon filter and just putting it in the middle of my room. No exhausting it (I dont want to lose my CO2), just cleaning the air within the room in hope that any air that leaks will no longer have that smell.

Any thoughts? Would this work?

that's how I do it and really is the best way, preferably use 2, one bigger then the other.

why would I need two and why would 1 have to be bigger than the other?

I fought this with my buddy, he says it creates negative pressure, which it does not, but I went with his theory and it works, I have an 8 " vortex on a can 66 in one corner and a can 6" on a can 50 in the opposite.
I also use ona gel around the house for any small leakage.

Yep, you bet it would work - setting it up that way, it's called an air scrubber - because it "scrubs" the smell out of the air - or at least that's the plan! lol

wow so you need that much? i have 2x1000w in a 12x12x8 room. so i was thinking of getting a Phresh Filter 550 cfm 6", but now I am thinking that might not be enough.

I have a 10x8x10 room and I have a baby 4" carbon filter and a 550 phresh a 6" filter..... Def NOT ENOUGH. I am waiting for my crop to finish to make my room a CGE rather than having in and out vents. I am going threw way to much co2.

Ya, we do our set up with a Scrubber. Works fine, but we have a massive room and a massive filter. Room is 20' X 20', Scubber is 12 Max-fan and a five foot long carbon filter.

i ended up getting an 8inch 950cfm and it works fairly well. not quite good enough though so i might need to add another smaller one as the guy above recommended

Since this casket has already been opened 13 years later I'm going to share.

I recommend using a carbon filter even in sealed grows, simply set a inline fan on the top of the filter and let it rip. Muffler is optional, I use it because the fan I have is loud as fuck.

Phresh 8"x39" Carbon filter (I do not use any other brand, they usually suck dick, if it doesn't weigh a lot it doesn't have a lot of carbon in it)
AC Infinity 8" Inline "Muffler" (has no filtration just helps with noise)
AC Infinity 8" inline fan with speed controller, looks something like this.

This setup could honestly be multiplied for my setup but I'm not really going for stealth, more just going for not being strangled by odor. Grow space is roughly 1,000 sq/ft and it does a good enough job at reducing odors where I can't smell it upstairs.

I'm replacing the filter this year, so yeah I know the pre filter is dirty but the filter is going on 3 years old and barely works anymore after 24/7/365 use.

Really bring this thread back up!

Just wondering, I have a tent which is 2.4m x 1.2m x 2.2m and my room has one small double glazed window and a decent door in a modern house. The room is not that much bigger being 3.5m x 3.0m so was thinking of sealing the window, putting some flaps around the door and then just using my AC Infinity 8" with AC Infinity Inline Muffler and Mountain Air Carbon Filter (similar setup to you) to vent fresh air back into the room. Then use passive vents for air back through? I could have the fan set nice and low as the AC unit would take care of too much heat etc.

I am of course looking into a dual air con and heat pump (or inverter) for the mall room (maybe a 1 to 1.5kw would be enough do you think? I can also look into introducing Co2 now also as I am running 2 x Lumatek 600w Zeus Pro 2.7 and might look at UV light also.
