How will you lightproof it and whats the space are you going to store this cab? I used IR blocker. it installed easy enough and totally blocked 97% of all light. Avoid pc fans completely. they were never designed for what we use them for. Make a diy carbon filter and use a cooltube type reflector. Heat is a bitch in a cab. heat and height is a constant issue.

Was planning on storing the cab in my closet, but i'll look into a IR blocker. Was going to make a carbon filter to cut down on smell.
As for the light, I was gonna go with one of the 300w led panels of ebay (180+-3% actual watts)...I know they are crap, or so people say, but for $100 i'm willing to take that chance and give it a try. With all that being said, I realize heat will still be a big concern, but thanks for the input, especially from someone with experience in the stealth cab field. Might reach out to you for some assistance in the design of a carbon filter.

Exactly the one I was looking at, for the price how could you go wrong, i know people end up spending around $60 or more for a cfl light setup so I'm gonna give one of these a whirl.

I have been waiting till they fall to $35-50 and then strip em down and put in my own diodes.
....but I know whatcha mean, too cheap not to just say fuck it.....180w's of led isn't anything to sniffle about, it will grow some cannabis for sure!

So it's been a long time away..few years but finally put a light in. Now to figure out ventilation of some sort but need it to still be stealthy.

What light did you end up going?
Im interested in the LED lights for my Micro grow but im concerned at the distance they seem to prefer to be away from the canopy.

It is a Viparspectra (not sure if one or two words) 300w, got on Amazon for $99 and I believe actual draw is around 130w but don't quote that. Plants should be going in soon and I will start a grow journal, probably do weekly updates on that. This may end up being a mother cabinet eventually but this first run will just be some bag seed as a test run so I can tweak anything that doesn't seem to work.

So I was able to figure a way to bring the light to a proper height, my next coarse of action is ventilation. Left the cab with one door open a quarter of the way for about 2 hours and got to 91 F, pretty hot for an led. Any suggestions is always welcome but of coarse I'm gonna crawl the forums, already seen a few ideas I may copy

Update: So I put a small intake and exhaust, just figuring out some sort of odor control maybe a small air scrubber. Going with some OGNL from sagarmatha, supposedly very low odor but I know there is no such thing as no odor..

Those fans aren't designed to move air like you have them. You need a real exhaust fan and a carbon filter if you're going to make it work. Ditch the intake fan altogether, you are safer with passive intakes (holes cut in the cab) so you can create negative air pressure and ensure all air exiting the cab goes through the filter.
I recommend the ->wolfman zen diy carbon filter. I've used quite a few of them and they work great, are easy to make, and cheap.
You might need to double up on them and create dual exhausts if one won't cut it. I use them with cheap 80mm pc fans and I'd guess they can handle about 50w of heat each.
I also agree with grouch...use passive intakes 2x the size of the exhaust and you're gtg.
