Caregiver Card - How long does it take?

Hi! newbie here,

I just recently got my California Medical Marijuana card/recommendation from my doctor. My grandfather has been a patient for a while and now undergoing chemo. I heard that I would be able to grow and posses more plants for him if I became his caregiver.

I am reading in several different places online that it differs on times to receive your State ID for patient and caregiver card.(ie: one forum said it took them up to 7 months, the Health Department says it could take up to 35 days, etc)

So my question is, for those who have their California state ID patient and caregivers card, how much did it cost and how long did it take??
And is there a way of expediting the process?

You dont neet a caregiver card....Hes got a recomidation and you have a rec so togeather you can grow twice as much......The only reason to get a caregiver card is if you yourself dont qaulity for a doctors rec. then you could get a caregivers card which would allow you to grow and access cannibas for your grandfather but you just said you already have a rec and so does he. so i dont understand what your saying?? If you can grow 6 and he can grow 6 then that means you can grow 12, 6 for you and 6 for him....I have a rec and my mom has a rec so i grow 12 at my house and put her rec on my door alone side my rec......getting a caregivers card wouldnt allow you to grow any more then just haveing two people with a recomendation..... make sense??
