caterpillars of some sort

So, my balcony grow has been going great, especially for my first time. Until today. I noticed a caterpillar looking thing. It was white. I nabbed it and tossed it. I began inspecting the half dozen of my girls and only found 2 more. I cut one lil bud off that looked like the caterpillar got into. After inspecting all of the girls, undersides of fan leaves and all, I did not spot any other insects
Is there any organic pesticide I can use while flowering? Please help.

Caterpillar spray
Active ingredient would be "BT". Had the same issue in my grow and 2 applications and bang they are gone.

Bt is short for something but I always remember it by that.

If you have a pic of the bug some of the pros here can maybe offer more insight.

BT sounds like something made by roundup (Monsanto).. Is it organic? Can it be used while flowering?

I believe brand dependant. Usually in the garden section of the hardware store. Look on the package and most that are safe to eat can be sprayed within a few days of harvest.

To clarify. ..
For tomatoes and.stuff. mine was only 2 weeks into flower when I sprayed, and I foliar sprayed with plain water after to rinse (next day).

BT is no good for me as I am going organic. I've found a great all organic very powerful substance that will work. I checked this morning and found no crawlers.. Phew!

Very true. As a matter of fact, BT is the source of the gene that Monsanto got (in)famous for adding to plant genetics to deter pests. And Monsanto is evil because of their business practices, not because of the actual gene modification which is based on very sound science and is just an extension of the very same selective breeding that has given us all such wonderful and diverse strains. If I had the means to splice BT genes into cannabis so that I never had to spray again I would do it in a heartbeat, hell if I could find a way to allow them both to express themselves I would splice in BTK and BTI both. (FYI BTK is what you want for caterpillars, BTI is for gnats and mosquitos. They are both totally organic strains of bacillus that only target very specific pests)

You are welcome. BT is just a common bacteria occurring in nature. "Back in the Day" (i.e. 70's) the natural way,( Mother Earth News) to take care of caterpillars on garden plants, was to collect dead caterpillars from your vegetable plants and toss them in a blender w/water and spray with that solution. It would promote the BT bacteria which seems to kill most any soft body caterpillar or grub.

Got moles in your lawn? The common remedy it to drench w/BT, which kills the white grubs the moles are after, no more grubs and the moles go elsewhere, McDonalds probably.

I'm not sure what type of engineering Monsanto has done in regards to BT, but I think I can safely say BT is about a safe a remedy that you can find for caterpillar type defoliators.

Yeah, I read up on it and it is actually OMRI so I stand corrected. Do you have any suggestions as to what I can do to get rid of the caterpillars.

So, I have been spraying the OMRI certified Safer BT every other few days. I still catch caterpillar every now and then. I have only seen one bigger black one and the rest have been smaller white clear ones. I have not noticed any poop near buds or on bottom leaves. Not sure if the BT is working just yet. Should I give up and try something else?
