Cause of overly light and fluffy buds?

I like your lights on temps. No prob there. I don't like the lights off temps though. Try and get that shit down closer to 70. ;-)
I need to find a way to bring in other air while i have the dehmidifier running, or find a way to make the dehumidifier not be so warm. is it usual for them to be blowing out warm air? maybe i should turn the dial down so its not pumping so hard at night?

It was getting around 65-70% at night with no dehumidifier if I remember correctly. I was getting WPM issues. It's the plants and the dirt themselves causing the humidity isn't it? I couldnt see any other reason it was getting so high. I've read that vegging plants like high humidity but I didn't want any WPM near my buds.

We've been having hot weather and that means fans in my grow rooms. Fans suck the moisture out of the air so plants need extra water during warm periods. I've noticed the same thing with my perpetual grow this summer and have increased daily watering by up to 50%. The closer a plant is to harvest the more you should increase the water.

Good Luck, BigSteve.

lucky if you didn't over dry them imo but like I said if you can snap stems there likely isn't enough moisture content left to get a proper cure, that part of the process is affected by where you live though. By me longer than three days maybe four as a whole plant and I'm pushing it.. Anyway though heat outside and heat inside is very different. It isn't about the actual number it's about the intensity of that heat. Outside a plant can take a hundred degree day inside it can't take more than a couple over 80. It IS that big of a deal I didn't read page two but looks like you have at least part of your answer.. Hope it turns out well, if so you didn't do bad!

It's getting a little bit better. it appears to be changing a small bit (appearence wise) after i put it in the jar. How do you measure the amount of moisture you want in the bud? Squeezing buds? bending stems?

@papa canna Burping jars is part of the drying process. Curing is when you leave jars sealed.
U need to do some research you don't know a lot of basic things.
Everything i've ever read on curing talks about opening the jars as part of the process. I've read tons of articles specifically on curing. Just because you consider that drying and others consider it as part of curing doesn't mean that its not all the same process.

And not in a single article of all the pages i've read on curing crop has any of them ever said "leave it in the jar and don't touch it"

that's interesting it's heat that can cause fluffy buds. my uncle grows and we both grew the same strain and mine rocked and his didn't. still good smoke, but very fluffy and light buds. i've never got to see his grow room and have wondered what was wrong with his setup.

for curing to happen the rh in the jar has to be between 55 and 65.. The transition from drying to cure happens in the jar for most, if you make it that way.. you can avoid a lot of burping if you get it in the optimal range by drying... meaning you are able to eyeball and feel when it's between 55 and 60 rh. But most can't. So they jar early then ease down the rh by burping and laying it out on cardboard for hours at a time..from dry to cure is a transition. You need to open your mind.. If you over dry and get the relative humidity in the jar below 55 you will never be able to cure..you should read facts about the process not opinions.. it's a fact that it can't cure till the rh is in the zone it needs to be in.

Is there any way to go about that without buying a bunch of hygrometers?

You can buy one and move it from jar to jar.. more or less know where they are and burp every so often just in case.. 55 to 65 gives you some room..I've never used one.. you get the feel for it really fast. As long as it smells good you should be OK if you burp every once in a while. When there's to much moisture it will start to smell weird .. slow drying is extremely important. . Also look into bodeva packs I've read good things about them.

this is correct and why I advise people to not wait for a snap in the stem to jar. If you have to open the lid some out dump it out let it dry up a couple times before you can comfortably leave the jar closed so be it I personally rather feel it out my own way than use a meter. I've got my dry and cure time down to about two weeks and the product is gorgeous... To know how much moisture when you can leave it closed is kind of a feel thing, when you put your hand over the recently opened jar you should feel a warmth but not a wetness, that's too wet. Also the buds shouldn't get most anymore when the jar is closed only the stems will bend some and there's only a little squeeze left but the buds are relatively dry compared to the first couple days of drying... When it's looking like real bud and isn't wet, you will get the hang of it. Eventually you get your dry time dialed in and don't have to go through that couple days of in out of the jar and instead only may have to circulate the air inside a few times until it can safely stay shut.
