CBD Farming

I plan on direct sowing around 50 seeds in a 600 square foot garden in a few weeks and was hoping swim could give me some advice. My soil is rated prime farmland, and classified as mestic. I plan on tilling in some 10-10-10 fertilizer just for good measure but was wondering if anyone had any other advice for me.

Sounds like you have a grow plan, if in doubt, check out the Farmers Almanac web page and search for growing tomato's section, which are similar to pot for soil and food.

I have a very similar plan for this summer--we'll have to compare notes.

I grew 1 cherry wine plant in the ground organically last summer and things went very well. Was my first grow (also did 4 other non CBd strains)

Have you done a soil test? pH is important. Plus you can add any needed amendments.

What strain you growing?

I plan to grow 2-3 dozen cherry wine this year.

What are your plans with the harvest? If selling legally you need to keep an eye on THC levels. Maine measures THCa, many states measure total THC, must not exceed 0.3%. Harvest time is key. Ideal to grow strain with high CBd to thc ratio.

What's your location/climate?

One other comment...50 plants in 600 square feet seems pretty tight. Are you culling males out of that 50 or will they all be female? Recommended spacing for hemp seems to be 4-6 feet, but based on my experience last year at 6 feet I'm expanding to 7 or 8. Having good airflow between plants will definitely help combat botrytis in the fall. Plus allow more sunlight penetration on all sides of the plant. Depends on how big/bushy your plants get of course. I found the Cherry Wine ended up a good 5-6 feet in width, that could partly be because I topped them several times during veg.

I would recommend seeding them with cannabis. I myself have grown and ordered seeds on the website and bought the finished products. I know you can buy everything legally in Canada, so there's no problem with that. If it's for sale, then you can grow it too. Honestly, I think it's a good business. If you still have free land, I would take a couple of hectares)) and plant cannabis seeds. Medicine officially sells them and prescribes them to people, because people have been treated with such remedies for a long time and I understand why the law is on the side of people.
