I have some pretty complicated health issues and it took me about 100 strains to really nail it down to a handful that actually work. About half the strains I've tried aggravated my symptoms so badly I was better off without. About 10% actually help and 2 strains are like the holy grail. The saying that strains have different chemistries and will produce different results is so true. But then i talk to my old stoner brother in law and he sees no difference nor cares about which strain he wants.
Being that there is a large variation in effects the only way for you to find what works is thru being your own advocate and time to research the strains. This involves finding information across multiple websites to find the strain that best approximates the desired effects and stimulates the right areas of your nervous system and brain.
I feel like everyone not familiar with cannabis wants to pigeon hole thc or cbd as good for only a few certain things the medical cannabis system is still like this. On my journey it opened up my eyes to the huge spectrum of positive and negative effects cannabis has. It really parallels all the research and development the pharmaceutical companies have done.
I've tried various cbd products from LP's oils, medical oils, medical and recreational flower and I have to say cbd falls victim to being stereotyped. Each cbd strain will have a foundation meaning it will have some general tendencies but after that the strain and it's effects are strain specific. I tried a cbd strain once called cbd high voltage, less than 1% thc, it was such an awful experience, my focus was like a laser but yet I wanted to sleep, it was such an opposing set of effects I felt like a rubber band, when I came down off I was cooked.
I have to agree, making my own oils keeps all the goodness of the plant in there. The cannabis medical system makes me laugh, they strip out the terpenes and take a one dimensional approach of only focusing on thc and cbd. The people in the know, know this isn't true and is validated when I hear others say their own homemade stuff is better.
