Cdl info

I have CO cdl and need to get the med exam cert again. I guess syn piss is in order, my appt is in a week and last toked a few days ago.

So question is, I don't work for anyone, just have my truck and use it for my own property maintenance. I haul material, but not for any employer, and I am not on any employer's list, just have the truck and the license. Am I subject to randoms? If so, how would they pop me with a random?

(I know CO is potentially different than MI, but this thread is exactly the topic i am concerned about)

id pass on the cdl cert if it were me.

So if you owned a commercial weight truck that you actually need, that requires a cdl to drive you'd rather not be licensed to drive it?

I own the truck. Not going to get rid of it to avoid having a cdl. I need this truck for maintaining our road and plowing in the winter. Used to have just a pickup with a plow. With the road we have have to maintain, it was like trying to use a teaspoon to move snow.

In fact, I have to go plow now. Close to a foot of new snow today.
