I tend to be suspicious about "progress," and that includes new strains of weed sometimes, too. I have my favorite, and tend to doubt that the latest greatest will likely be as good. I was skeptical about Fruity Thai, too, so I only bought an 1/8th. I shoulda' bought an OZ (or more)!
I don't care too much about strength, per se (although stronger pot, for the same price, is cheaper in use), and Fruity Thai is not the strongest smoke I ever smoked, but the quality of the smoke more than makes up for that. It's good if you like to smoke at least a few hits without getting wasted! Other reviewers give it an A- or B+ for potency, and that's about right. And I strongly prefer sativas to indicas. Sativas are harder to grow and give smaller yields than indicas, but also produce much cleaner highs, without the sedation, memory and conversation issues often associated with marijuana, but which are actually more common to indicas.
The reviews I read were correct that it hits you pretty fast, like almost instantaneously, with a sensation that feels like it's behind the eyes. This could be part of what I have read described as "visuals." Some reviews describe it as a trip. It IS pretty trippy, for pot! There are some nice, if not particularly distinct visuals (at least I didn't stop to analyze them).
By which I mean this is fun marijuana! And most importantly, in the seconds after taking my first, second and third hits, rather than slumping down in my seat, sedated, I found myself sitting up straighter, my head fully upright, and totally comfortable. And it was clear right away that this pot STIMULATES thought, rather than stifling it. I felt positively energized, awake and alert, even after a total of 5-6 hits. And it IS euphoric! After just one hit, I felt very pleased to have tried this EXC weed, and felt pretty good about life in general.
This is EXC daytime weed, about as good, and even more interesting, than the White Widow I usually prefer. Although I understand this to be a 50:50 sativa:indica hybrid, the sativa characteristics are expressed VERY well. I would recommend this marijuana to anyone who feels the need to medicate regularly, throughout the day, and who still wants to get things done, including physical, intellectual and even social pursuits.
