Cfl 1st Time Grow Work In Progress

Ok well where I begin. This is my 1st grow to tell the truth I have always wanted to try. But really never had the time or space (so I thought). Anyways I have just recently joined but have browsed the forums for some time now.
Anyways on with the show right.

I started with an old cabinet from a bedroom set. The 1st 2 pics taken on day 1 of construction at this same time I have began to germ 6 bagseed seeds. In the paper towel method. Took around 36 to 48 hrs to pop but they did all 6. The reason I went with 6 is its bagseed no idea what I’m getting and this is my 1st time doing this bound to be mistakes. So I put them in really any lil thing I could find around the house that was probably my 1st). I planted them in some MG organic mix which a later read on here is to strong I hope they will be ok.




As I was working on the cab the noticed wrapping paper (lol) I tried wasnt quite doing it so I swapped it out for some shit I found at Michael’s the hobby shop. But here is a pic of what the box looks like as of now for the most part. Like I said a working progress. Still needs another intake.



Well today is day 7 and they have all sprouted but there’s 1 that doesn’t want to lose its shell just want to help it out but I’ll let nature do its thing. So everything is looking good for the most part none just dead lying on the dirt. So I have rotated them so the all can get some of the same light will need to add another strip will do later today or tomorrow.

4 27w 6700k Daylights
For Flower
2 42w 2700k warm light
3 23w soft

Ok so it's been a little while since I last checked in. A lot has happened a couple of my plants suffered from what I don’t know but won’t happen again. I of the pics below is side by side with 1 of my healthy girls I hope...I may have started nutes to early but have done bunch of reading since I have started along on this adventure...so I will not start until 2 weeks guess I was little impatient lol...But a couple of them pulled through and to me look real nice. They are also pictured below. Started nutes again today after I tried to transplant my sick plants I went with just water until today 11/25 so they have been off nutes for about 2 weeks...1/4 dose grow big, a drop of super thrive, and a couple drops of 10-15-10 plant food. I will also germ a couple more seeds tonight would like to run with 4 at a time. Plus not sure if these are ladies or not would hate to have to start from scratch. But below are a few pics of the ladies from start to now.
So the pics go as follows 1, 2 the seedlings, 3 the side by side of 1 healthy 1 sick, 4, 5 the seedlings now.

And iam still learning as I go so like I said before I’m sure I’m going to make mistakes but as long as I take from it will be ok.lol
if any1 has some insight please help fellow grower out (using that term loosely)...

edit...ok so today i have taken a couple more pics of my babies...I also got my free samples of bio biz nutes its is day 20 now so i figure it will be safe to begin feeding them. I will try this bio-biz they sent enough for a portion of this grow so by the time i need some more i will have some more money hope it gets me through xmas then ill be fine if not i got some ff grow big...I was thinking flowering due to height restrictions and this being my first grow i can only learn from it... What does any 1 think?
The 2 pictures are of the 2 that have made it thus far havent really named yet so ill just tell how you can tell them apart one has dark green leaves the other bright green. So once i know they are ladies i will name them a lil off subject.
They seem a little small to me when i look at others pics on here for about the same time frame. But compared to the ones that didnt make these are beasts...lol...They are growing nice though dont get me wrong i luv my lil babies im in there or im on here girl and kids getting upset...
So back on subject if its only 4 1/2 inches tall it will only grow another 8'' inches maybe a foot right during flowering correct???

Well i may wait and see if i get any comments on flowering if not i guess i will update with sex known.

So today is Day 3 of 12/12 a lil growth last night not much as the night before but i took a few more pics this morning and i noticed a couple burn spot on a few of the leave i would like to think its no big deal just the very tips of 1 or 2 and a lil spot in the middle of 1. I watered them this morning and i misted them with shoultz plant food 10-15-10 will foiler feed (SHoultz) only everyother watering and will continue with bio-biz. But there still looking healthy and would like some feedback. How they look, how can i improve my setup. I am new and need to be sure im on the right path...They of course still havent sexed but im hope there ladies i have spent many days and nights talking to these bitchs...If thet pop balls im gonna be pissed...lol


so the pics go like this the 1-2 are showing im getting over 2500 lumens at various spots in the box. the meter as you can see is past the 200 point...lol...The next 3-4 are of each plant then a pic of both of them together

Your plants look fucking great man, i read your journal quickly but i did read it.
Are u flushing? Do it occasionally especially if any burning etc becomes a problem, but im sure u know that..
If anything, which would depend on the situation ur in, i would get some HPS for dankness and yield +rep

so today Dec 7 at 6:00am i confirmed a male fuckin a all that luv and attention...Well i still got one to go and im really hoping that is a female have not seen any sign of sex but the other 1 grew all types of balls up toward the top. I think i heard that it will show sex towards the top and head down anyway they both grew a lot last night to bad for the male he out a here...but as for the other i will be sure to keep a close eye. I really want to germ a few more seeds but i really dont want to put them on 12/12 from seed but what the hell i maybe worth a try. i was think inking about maybe saving the pollen in the freezer but this is just some bag seed so not sure if that would be worth it. Can a female get pollenated only when she is showing pistils???? Thank you

Hey,sucks that they are males. Luckily, i dont think female can get pollinated if:

- The pistels havent grown yet

OR

- The ball sacks havent "popped" yet. When they pop open is when they realease all tehre pollen.

If I were you i'd start calling the remaining plant by a woman's name and say it in a loving manner. This will convince the plant to be female. it totally works, it's very scientific.

anyhow just checked your grow out for the first time today. That grow box is freaking awesome. It's perfect man nice job. and the plants look great. too bad you got a male. subscribed and +rep

I would like to thank every 1 that has come by and checked out my grow...This journal is officially over the other plant turned out to be a male also... so I’m going to keep growing them until my dna genetics get here... I’m thinking I may keep 1 of the males cause he is a beast smells o so good plus taking a shit load of abuse...Since I found out the last 1 was a male I haven’t really watered or gave them any nute and have kept them out of the box just on a window ledge and it’s still growing. I’m going to just let it go until I can get some pollen later on down the road I may want to try and breed...But compared to the other and since this was my 1st grow I’m going to go ahead and try and experiment with it so how much it can take...May have some strong genetics it’s from bag seed but from some good shit...
I have actually already started another grow only one has popped so far but i will go ahead and show yall a sneak peek at whats to come...

the first 2 pics are of my males the darker green 1 is the 1 im talking about keeping... the 3rd is of my new baby girl on day 1 of breaking dirt the 4th pic is today the 3rd above dirt...

ouch man ... u shud alays start atleast 4 seeds when not femmed .. just to be sure !

yea i just went ahead and germed about 8 more seeds (see how many pop)gonna give it another go before my good seeds arive see what happens this go round i already have one that broke dirt i got the others soaking in water now will put them in paper towel later tonight...

thats a bummer man. those males you grew looked pretty good though. If you can grow females that look that healthy you'll be in good shape

Congrats on starting your first grow, the first thing I can tell ya is to be patient.
-Don't over water, water when container is light, or 1-2" down is dry.
-change your lights to the daytime lights the 2700k, it has more blue spectrum which is better for veg and the more orange light is for flowering
-only keep the cfl's 2-3 inches away from you plants, they don't give off much heat, but don't let them touch, they will burn your plant
-when you first start using nutes around 3-4 weeks from seed, use 1/4 the amount it says and gradutally increase.
The best thing I can tell ya is do ALOT of reading, there are soo many helpful ppl on here and ALOT of knowledge.
