CFL 36" by 24" box grow

Hello all,

This is my fourth grow, second one indoors. Last year I grew plants inside of a minifridge (the smallest kind) and ended up transplanting them outdoors due to heat issues. This year I've built a much larger cabinet with 9 CFLs and an Inline fan.

What are you planning on doing when the plants start growing up? It's a nice clean setup, but that's a lot of plant for that size. I'm just a beginner myself, about 55 days into my first grow and the worst thing I underestimated was how much these plants would fill up a space in a short amount of time.

Yea it is small haha but for me it's big. Plus I'm only expecting two of these plants to be female (the strain is undetermined, I got some bagseed 4 years ago and have been growing it since, some dank shit too surprisingly). I'll most likely end up doing my first SCROG, I have much to learn there.

I'm using a 6" inline fan / tubing i got off Amazon which was somehow delivered in under 24 hours for free. It's noisy so I stuffed the Cab into my closet which ironically reduced the noise but increased the temp, the thing the fan was meant to keep down in the first place.

Nice setup. Concur with the heat problem. Seems like the smaller you go the more the heat becomes a problem. You could go smaller on the CFL's and add more bulbs until you get the heat issue handled. I was looking last night at a box of CFL bulbs that the power company sent me and it had some 18 watt 2700 K bulbs that I might use on the next grow. Good luck on your grow!
Looks like you have both 2700K and 5000K in there right now. Are you going with auto seeds

Well the heat maxes out at 84 for a few hours during the afternoon then stays around 79. However anything below 86 hasn't seemed to impact this strain in my experience.
Good eye on the lights, I have:
Two 42 watt 2700Ks (2800 Lumens per)
Two 23 watt 2700Ks (1600 lumens per)
Two 26 watt 2700Ks (1570 lumens per)
And Three 18 watt 6500K bulbs (? Lumens)

for a total of = 236 watts and ~16,200 lumens.

All cramped inside ~6 cu ft cab (2 cu ft are used up by the fan space too so that makes it more like 4 cu ft) , so i think the heat isn't too bad considering

I may get 2 more surge strips and use all those nice free CFL's the power company sent me. That should make my future so bright, I'll have to wear shades :weed:

The heat from the CFL ballasts is why I dumped them in favor of HPS. The bulb does get hot but it's nothing compared to the CFLs I had in there..

Sweet stealth grow, but you arnt worried for height? they look close to the lights already, or is this a transition box?
