CFL advice please

Ive been using a couple for about a yr with no issues:)they are the Phillips 6500k 75w= led bulb.This is the 5bulb fixture I made with one in the middle....
Photo07111315.jpg The cree 18w led bulbs are still a little to expensive @ $25/ea.,which are the ones I will be switching my cfls for when the price is right.There are a few riu growers who use only led bulbs.

So when using an LED the same rules apply with color spectrum? You want primarily cool blues and a couple of warm reds for full spectrum for vegging

I would check with someone like PetFlora as he seems to have indepth knowledge of the spectrums. Area51 has all white leds and white/red. The white has a little bit of everything that you need to grow.

My 300w DS has red and blue with one IR and UV. They work fine but I don't know yet wether or not all white or white/red is better than what I am using at the moment. The more important thing with LED's is who they come from, because most everything comes from china but cheaper lights generally have cheaper leds inside them. You want the good ones if your going to do LED.

Head over to the LED section and ask them, you will get more factual information.

When using the A19 bulb style leds yes,otherwise led light is measured in nm or nanometers.A led flowering light would be red in the 500nm to 750nm range,led veg light would be white /blue in the ....well...Lol....not sure but 400-450nm...

Like I said a lot is strain dependant but a strain that stretches could use more blue/white "veg" lights till flowering stretch is over,then a more full spectrum of lights for flowering...I personally use a 4:1,4:2 ratio of lights ...like 4 6500k cfl and 2 2700k cfl for veg and the opposite for flowering.

Inferior.....or worse than mine...

Im sure a lot of people have some concerns about possible fires from the extreme heat from hid lighting.They get hot!plus with shoddy wiring or cheap ballasts it's a real concern;).

Shoddy wiring is a worry true dont buy cheap ballasts lol get a digital

How does using a 300w led save u power ? It still uses 300w

if you are interested in what are the better of the cheaper lights too
Alpha & Omega is a good guy to talk with he tests out many of them for his forum

First two buds I grabbed, not even close to finished and used the black n white so you can see the trichomes.

That sir, is about as real as shit gets. I will take some real pictures of the tops with my camera.

digging the black n white, i don't think i have seen a b&w pic of weed plants before .. how strange
looking forward to some colour though and maybe a macro ?

Yeah! I will get some in color and a macro, and with the LED on so you can see why I didn't take any color ones during lights on.

Just to add, she is not my favorite strain. It is Chernobyl by TGA the lime slurpee pheno and she ended up tripling in size. She went from 2 feet to 6 1/2 feet tall. I had to top her and bend the stems and all kinds of shit. This was a learning experience for sure as I vegged them way too long.

That is what im talking about brother! :D

That set im working with is Chernobyl from Dark Heart Nursery (TGA Genetics Strain). If your in Cali and you actually like the way it looks when I am finished you can easily find it at either Elemental Wellness Center or Harborside. I don't really like clones especially when I am working with strains I have never seen grown before. But my wife wants me to make a little money from the collective and so I did one run of 24 in 3 gal pots.

I apologize for my hostility earlier, I have a blood disorder in which I have too many red blood cells and if I don't give blood or medicate it makes my chemicals all off and I become a royal asshole for no reason. Might be TMI but I just wanted to apologize.
