I'm vegging with 12 23watt 65k CFLS and have them about an inch above the plants...I noticed two have started to yellow...I know the water is PH balanced, The soil doesnt have any nutrients yet..using Pro-mix HP... and im about 9 days into vegging.... So do you think the CFL's are too close and burning my babies or is that just ridiculous???

i am ordering 4 200 watt cfls=10,000 lumens a piece. im going to have very good air movement and will keep them very close less than an inch... never had a problem.

usualy cfl's dont burn plants extremly rare, but could have something to do with nutes, just raise the lights up another 2 or 3 inches, and if they continue to burn you know its not the lights. hope that helps. :blsmoke:

9 days into vegging...I assume your not overwatering....correct? It may be time to add some light nutrients..perhaps some sort of fish meal, or other light organics

I've noticed burn when within an inch. And also lens-burn(brown-edged holes in leaf) from water droplets. The plants tend to recover quickly if spotted soon enough.

I second that motion. Exact same things with my CFL grows. No sweat, just move the lights back a bit and your golden.

Also, make sure you've got a good fan going. Cfls aren't too hot, but can get that way (especially if you've got 12)
