i am growing for the first time so please help me in any way you can when you see me do something wrong...

i am growing in a cabinet i painted white and has 1 intake and 2 exhaust computer fans

grow has been a long8 days as of now and i think its going pretty good

i plan on flowering in another cabinet taller because this one is only about 1.5 ft tall and i want to have some vegging while i'm flowering these plants.

i am vegging with 2 5000k 27w and 3 19w
i will flower with 6 2700k 19 watt cfls

pics are from day 2 after planted and day 7 (yesterday 10/30) , i soaked the seeds in water for 20 hrs before putting in soil... soil is a mix of outside dirt, MG perlite, and some spaghum peat moss..

i will post nutrients i have bought but havent used yet a little later i just wrote this quick i will fix it up later

all looks good so far..but imo i wouldnt use dirt from outside...too much risk of bringing in pests..bugs can ruin an otherwise great grow...subbed up...let us know if you need any help bro

thanks and rep to both of you, to DJ: i had put the dirt in the oven to kill all the fungus, bugs or anything that will harm it, i had read it a while back and decided to try it

Cup on the left needs to be deeper,,,, pretty much ASAP.

Your lighting (at this point) is way over kill. Just one of the 27 watters would be fine for the first couple or three weeks. Reason I say that, while green is great,,, in the beginning you want most of the grow below the soil line. I've found too much light early on makes for a pretty plant,,, with weak supporting root structure as a very possible future issue.
But, that's just my opinion. :leaf:

to all of you thanks and i had come home to see my plant being squished by one of the lights and i noticed the growing medium they were in was a little to compacted so i transplanted into some bigger buckets with a new light soil mix, and the squished one made a quick recovery and is doing good now

update: i have checked on the plants today and noticed the it is very cold due to winter and the thermometer reads 50 f lights off and 62 lights on so what are some things i can use to warm up the closet?

i repositioned the lighs a little and the plants are not looking good i think the temperature is affecting this alot

update: i have a 100w and a 50w heatbulb next to the intake fan and made a bend with some dryer venting and put sheets of cardboard angled in there to block the light coming in and will update with a avg temp once all the air has finally circulated around the closet and warmed up, hopefully this will maintain a constant temperature to allow me to continue this grow

Why vent when they are so small? Insulate now and vent later. Keep the air moving, but I can't believe the plants need much CO2 at this stage.

i have been busy and right now i am no where near sober so ill try to give a quick update:

the 2 original plants suffered shick from being cold for 1-2 days and then transplanted but the better looking bushier plant didnt suffer as bad i have germed and planted 2 more seeds and they are growing nicely a little streching tho but i plan to lst them... but the smaller plant of the original 2 look to be a hermie help plz? pics will be uploaded

thanks i just pulled it out right now thinking if i want to keep it or not in another setup for some tests
only reason to keep a male..is if your breeding...which is kinda pointless unless you know the strain....or some use males to make hash...but it has a fairly low thc count....i looked into what it takes to make cannabutter...pretty easy...but need a LOTTTT of leaves to do it...but i chop all males...not worth the risk of ruining a otherwise good grow

checked on them today and i think i pulled the male in the perfect time because i see no change in the plants that lead me to believe it is a male thanks for the help i will try to free up time at least 3 times a week to update this but it is pretty hard with my schedule

i have slowly induced lst to the 3 week old plant during the past week because the pnalt is about 8 inches tall but is getting way too bushy and not all the nodes are getting enough light... i have introduced 24-14-13 veg nutrients and in 2 days i have seen some changes
