Yer its why they make them 300w but like led only pull 140 and some of that is ballast so we get a good 100w equivelant that can grow quite well for a few oz on couple plants.

This being efficient is getting a little to pressed in to everything, were not all after saving a few watts and dont care about the savings on our bills. Its a real cheap light great to learn on.

But like I mentioned before, you can go the A19 route and get better results. Six pack of 100 watt equivalent A19s and a 5 or 6 way splitter off Amazon. That setup will crush a CFL bulb.

Strips are even better.

I have a few of the 300-watt CFL's leftover from my original grow attempt.
Mine draw 65 watts from the wall. I think the 300-watt description is comparing the cfl's lumen output to a 300-watt incandescent lamp.
Compared to screw-in led light bulbs, cfl's are not a good solution.
Kinda like the comparison of incandescents to cfl's to led's.
