CFL Fridge Grow

Hey guys, wondering about CFL lights... now im wanting to grow as fast as possible etc... and get a decent yeild... wondering wether or not to go 1 or 2 large cfls or alot of smaller ones...

Thinking of using something like that? but using a couple or should i get more smaller ones? im wanting to use 1 for veg (blue spectrum) and 1 for flower (red spectrum).

Thinking maybe 1 or 2 of those size ones for veg/cloneing. Would like to know how many of them would be needed to get a good light source for flowering?... im wanting as bigger yeild as possible.

wow wow wow, I'd never use a 100w CFL for cloning, if anything use 2 13w CFL Warm White for every green house you have *1 foot wide by about 2 to 3 feet long)

yea? is that enough power? i wanna get highest possible yeild from CFLs... how many watts roughly for flower and how many for veg?

I am using 7 13w CFL and a 42w CFL Warm white for my flowering and 6 13w CFL Warm white for my veg

I'm going against what people say for veg lights , I'm using 13w, 900 Lumes, 2700k warm white for veg

why not spend $20 at Home Depot and get a 65w cfl that is 6500k=) there in the outdoor lighting section..Lights of America makes them there about $20... I've used them for my mother plants with good success in the past and for my clones.. I myself don't like seeing 15 little cfls over the plants...(probably why I have a 1000w hps)=)

those 65watt lights DONT HAVE BUILT IN BALLASTS.... read the package you muct have a ballast already

any way clones dont need that much light when they take root but you want 10,000 lumens per square foot for flowering

First of all, dont use warm white CFLs for vegging. Its a waste of time. Get 6500k daylight bulbs, you will see MUCH faster and healthier growth. Get the most efficient lights you can. Take the lumen output, and divide by the wattage of the lights to figure out lumens per watt. Do this for every different wattage bulb until you find the one with the highest lumen to watt ratio. This way you get the most light for the least energy.

2700 / 42w = 64.28 lumes per wat
900 / 13w = 69.23 lumes per wat

2 13w Warm White, 900 lumes gives me rooted clones in 9 days

ahhh... no-one answered my Q can i use those 100 - 250w CFLs? will they work?... so warm white not for vegging but for flowering? and just normal CFLs with high lumens for veg? and should i get biggest bulbs possible with highest lumens for flower?

yes you can use 100w to 250w CFL but you have to have good air movement to take the hot air out of your grow space, you can use Warm white for veg just alot of people don't belive in using warm white for veg but warm white is used for flowerinI don't belive in using high wattage bulbs for clones or seedlings though

ok guys. so decided to go say 4 x 15W CFLs for Veg/Clone? with around 1080 lumens per globe? is this suffiecent or should i go more?

and thinking like 10 x 24W warm whites for flower? with like 1600+ lumens each. Or should i get more and also higher wattage?

go for the bulbs that guve you more Lumes per wat out put. How many plants are you planing on having for thoes 4 15w CFL ?

ie.

900 lumes / 13w CFL = 69.23 lumes per watt
2,700 lumes / 42w CFL = 64.28 lumes per watt

is going by that I should get rid of my 42w CFL for flowering and use 3 more 13w CFL for the best lumes per watt

Use 13 watt (60 watt equivalent) CFLs for seedlings.

Use 23 watt (100 watt equivalent) CFLs for larger plants, but get a bunch of 'em.

Also, a clamped reflector hood is always nice...

ha ha ha its not that complicated simple is better just try for your self im doin just fine with 3,two bulb from home depot 4 ft using 3000k and 4500k and only if you can see them im using the same troth to clone in with no mods
