Yo Penny your babies are looking great, this is the guy from the hydroponic shop in NC. Excellent grow journal all of the comments and pics are helping. I managed to save two of the plants from my first crop and I should have some new sprouts within the next couple of days. Hopefully when I find my camera I can get some pics up.
heck ya man post em up lets see em
i see as is mine, i will be flowering at 3 and a half weeks also
Hi Penny...........
Looks terrific. I subscribed a week or so ago and finally finished reading it.
Question. On your original 8 26W 6500K CFLs used for veg'in, how big was the room/area? I'm planning on doing the same thing and I too have the 400 dual MH/HPS for the flowering stage. I'll either keep them indoors or toughen them up and go outside for the flowering.
I def like the way you did the Veg with the CFLs but just curious on the size of the grow area???
Looks good and thanks.
Hey man, I actually vegged in a closet that was about 3x4 and 8 feet tall, then I moved and now my grow space is about 3x5 and 8 feet. The only problem is the heat with the hps, so I keep the doors open with a fan outside the closet hitting above the conopy to rid the heat.......
Daytime temps run 79 to 82 and night time temps drop 10-15....![]()

Do the CFL's throw off a lot of heat? Some heat? Minimal heat? No heat?
I know you tossed 4-5 plants because of being males. How tall were your 2 when you went to flower?
Surprisingly, my plants were roughly 12 inches when I began flowering.
I have never vegged with cfls I only used them for seedlings, but I was amazed with the outcome with the cfls. The heat was nothing about 80 with the lights about 1 inch off canopy with a fan running. I used 8 so I only used 208 watts. I plan on vegging with cfls from now on, it's alot cheaper than running my mh for veg, and taking into account 18/6 saving at least 10 dollars per month.......
I am a true believer that cfls are great for veg, but am always going to stick with hps for flowering.....![]()
they are looking good penny. I hope that you get a good harvest from them.
