Hey guys, I'm about a month into growing now.
Heh. They're pretty crummy looking, mainly because I was cheap and grew them with a crummy bulb. Just picked up a couple 27W daylight CFLs today though, hoping I can bring the grow back towards something useable.
I'm growing two plants, both of them bagseed. I'm using LST, started it two weeks ago, and loving the results I'm seeing, even with a shitty bulb.
I dont have alot of questions right now, but the ones I do have are, hopefully, pretty simple.
First off, I'm using the LST method that can be found here: https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/6834-how-lst-low-stress-training.html
Now, I've been reading through the thread, but to simply be lazy and save myself some time, I figured I'd ask you fine folks- how well does an LST plant grown that way clone? If I'm lucky, one of my two babies will be girls, and I can simply clone off of her.
Second, this one is for you Odor Control freaks out there. I'm looking at doing the DIY carbon filter that Mighty Buddha posted here: https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/7074-easy-build-diy-carbon-filter.html
Now, this is kind of where it gets tricky.
The space I'm growing in is actually the rafters above the garage complex at my flat. Nobody goes up there, and nobody has reason to. I dont want to give them one. I have my lights pretty well shielded, but my two concerns now for when I flower are odor, and noise.
To combat noise, I'll be doing my best to make some noise reduction baffling and the likes, but I know that it will still be there. My other way to combat noise, is to take it away. The 3 people that use this particular stall (Not me, I enter and exit from a different stall and shimmy my way over there), are basically only in the stall for a few minutes at a time, a few times a day.
So, my question is, if I get one of those remote control electrical sockets and use it in conjunction with a timer for my odor killer, how fast does the place start to smell?
Like, lets say I turn off the fans at 6:45 when subject A and B walk out to their cars. The fans come back on at 7:00. In that 15 minute time span, does the whole place start to instantly reek? And how long does it take to dissipate that smell?
I know that alot of it is dependant on my fan strengths, but just from your experiences, what do you find? I'd likely have the odor killer (Either the activated charcoal or videomans muffin fan, or both) running most of the day, and having it off and on periodically from about 6am to 8am, 10am to noon, and 4pm to 6pm.
Any thoughts? I wont be flowering for another few weeks yet, so I'll be posting more questions here as they come. All the input is much appreciated, and I'll be sure to post some pics as time goes on.
Piece out.
