when you talk about growing with cfls, refer to the actual wattage, not the incandescent equivalent. smaller bulbs tend to have a slightly higher lumen per watt output, making them more efficient. Smaller bulbs also put off less heat, which means you can get them closer to the plants. IMO many small cfls (13-26w) is better than a couple large 55w cfls. Because cfl light looses intensity drastically as the distance from the bulb increases, it is a good idea to look into doing a scrog or some lst. You want all the bud sites to get good lighting, so you grow the plant horizontally and all bud sites can be placed equally close to the light. Hope this helps.
