Well done, looks good. What does "can tell the difference between the trichomes" mean?

More common to describe your trichomes as some percent clear, some percent cloudy, and some percent amber. You'll get different ideas on when to harvest because it is a personal decision and depends on what you want out of the buzz.

So what are your trichome colors and what sort of buzz do you want from your plant?

OK.... Not done yet... Here's why:
White hairs... You plant will usually quit making new white hairs, and there are some new ones....
Most hairs will recede back into bud --still see lots of hairs...
Calyxes.... Have they swollen up so it looks like there are large seeds in them?

When these things happen, then check your Trics
You want mostly white tops/milky on your Trics
A few amber is ok... the thing is amber is degraded THC... so when first sign's of amber Trics it's time....

Well dats the thing..I dnt really know...as far as the high I dnt too much care which high it gives me bt I don't wanna pull too early. .I'm a bit color blind so please understand my dilema

Remember amber means degraded THC....
If color of Trics really told us the growers what kind of hi then we'd grow them that way, and that's not what happens...
You don't go into a pot store and say:
"I'll have the MJ with the most amber trics, cause I want a couch lock..."
After they quit laughing....
They will tell you, there is no such product...

Get a friend to scope them for you and describe the colors. To learn more about harvesting, I suggest you take a bud at 50/50 clear to cloudy. Take another at 25/75 clear to cloudy, another at first sign of amber, another at 10% amber and maybe the rest at 20% amber...you get the idea. You can then try them and see if you have a preferred harvest time.

First person I have seen grow the African Durbin Poisin that did not get hermies or almost no yeild. I never grew mine still have a 10 pack stored somewhere from 8 or so years ago every grow I saw people hated the outcome.

Grew 3 DP plants outside this year and they fukkin rocked. I would not want to try to grow inside however. They want to be tall and lanky and it was a fistfight to keep them at 6 feet tall outside.

Top shelf smoke, just can't say enough good about it. It would be my one and only strain outside if I were forced to pick.

Thanx guys.....lots of help....I got it from dutch passion seeds not sure if its pure african dp????? This is my first grow and I hav three different strains running...skunk #1, durban poison, and blue dream....blue dream has a nice ways to go, I took a sample from sk1 jus to get used to the dry/cure process....it smokes ok bt still far from ready....I'm using 3 150 equivalent cfls I believe actual watts on them are 42 or sumn and 6 100 watt equivalent I think they re 32 or 23 can't remember lol....bt so far so good I guess no hermies thus far ****fingers crossed****..growning in a closet before I use the whole room...wanna get the hang of the entire process before I commit to heavy and expensive machinery...veg for 3 1/2 weeks first and did a bit of lst on blue dream n dp...I topped skunk

Also I've done a TON of research so most of what you guys told me I pretty much knew bt like I say my eyes aren't that gud so I jus wanted opinions and I guess jus a bit of acknowlegement lol so I cud feel better...for a first time grower the most important thing I've learned is PATIENCE!!!!!!

That's interesting and I'll chew on that because I bought into it. I only have my personal experiences to go off and it is possible that I was biased by what I expected to happen. A little confusing because I think we are in agreement that THC degrades with age. You don't think this degradation changes the high?

Was one the Hardest things I learned, and probably for a lot of peeps...

Looks Good so far and likely to be nice Harvest...Great Going!!

It most certainly effects the buzz to a certain degree. It isn't going to change sativa into indica or vice versa, but no doubt there is an effect on the buzz.

Yep, my best friend still can't stop himself from cutting down too early. Every batch he says he wont and then he does, every single batch.
I even hook him up with bud to make sure he has enough to stretch through til the end and he still can't stop himself.

Lmao dang its that bad ^^^^ I've cut two bottom branches cuz I didn know if I shud wait or not and I wanted to go thru the other steps before I messed up an entire crop bt yes gotta hav patience...sux to buy from sumone else when u hav a whole unready batch in the works bt forra do wat u gotta do :) looks like I won't hav that early xmas present...also I've heard if I lengthenn the drk cycle a bit it cud speed up the process???? Andone tried or can anyone verify that?????

I don't know. I don't think so personally. I lengthen the dark cycle when I have extremely sativa leaning phenos to keep them from having re-flowering spurts near the end. It doesn't seem to affect the indica leaning phenos.

Personal experiences... for sure... Here's what I think...
Most new growers harvest too early...
so, the first time he lets plant fully mature, swollen calyxes, hairs receded, and first sign of amber trics,
so... he assumes it's the amber trics, when in fact, it's the first time he's let his plant fully mature....
....

If the plant had 40% of the BILLIONS of Trics on your buds, you would be holding dust, and not a bud....

I check Trics after a cure, and most clear trics have turned milky... I almost never see more than 1% of Amber ....

Brown burnt edges of buds... past due, and loosing potency....
