cfl lighting?

Could someone explain to me the diffrences in the cfls(day, warm, soft lights?) and when they need to be used? im planning on buliding a rubbermaid grow box with them. thx

6500 for veg, they will be the cool bulbs
2700-3200 for flower, they will be warm
Unless you are cramped for space, use as many and as big of both that you can. Otherwise, use 6500 for veg, and then switch out the 2700 for flowering.

I don't have first hand experience (cause I don't have 6500's) but I have done a bit of reading about this sheeet.

2700's have alot of light in the red wave length so they are good for flowering.
6500's have most of their light in the green part of the spectrum and are considered an all round light (so they can veg and flower a plant).
14000's are in the ultra blue length, and plants will utilise this light more than anything else during vegging.

So I guess the perfect set up would be 1:1, 6500;14000 during veg and 1:1 2700;6500 during flowering.

Warm white = ~2700K
Cool white = ~6500K
Ultra blue = ~14000K (these wont be in hardware stores, check in aquarium stores for these, that's where I got mine)

As stated before, warmer (low kelvin temp) for flowers - cooler (high k temp) for veg

More of a meaning its Different Color Temperatures.
as we can mainly only get 1-2 spectrums in one bulb where as are sun burn many different spectrums even GREEN
But yh burning at different Temperatures gives off different spectrums

you must put the bulbs 1" from the top of the plants to avoid streching!!! be carefull, coz you'll may have to rise the bulbs one, even two times a day in case!!!!!

would the cfl work better mounted verticaly or horizontaly?
and would a plexy glass cover drop the power of the light?

Yes the lumen intentisty will go down a little and verticaly or horizontaly the mass is the same
