yes, you can. the lower the k rating of the lamp, the better. most commercial CFL's are 2700k, which is a very reddish hue of light. avoid lamps that are labeled cool white.
however, dont expect a large yield, cfl's have very low lumens and PAR ratings as compared to other types of lamps. i have yielded 1/2oz finished product on a single plant in a closet using just 4 cfls, however, the same plant would have yielded closer to 1/4 lb if i had been using HPS or CMH lamps for flowering.
growing with cfl's is a fine art, it takes a little practice to develop which style of growing is most effective for your setup. when using cfl's, always use smaller plants such as the type used in a SOG (Sea of Green) style grows.
