CFL Micro DWC PC Grow

Hi all. Just re-posting my thread i started on my little pc grow box after it got lost, deleted or whatever.

OK so here goes.
CASE:
16" tall x 18" wide and 8" deep clad in mdf with light traps for all fans.
LIGHTS:
4 X 24w 2700K cfls (also have 3 6500K bulbs if i want to mix em up a bit)
VENTILATION:
2 X 120mm thermaltake pc fans at the front which can be turned on individually as needed.
2 x 120mm squirrel cage blower fans, one on top to help suck cfl heat out and one on the back for added extraction.
DWC:
2L tub with homemade netpot from a seedling tube
4" airstone and aquarium airpump
just using the rockwool only, no hydroton or anything else.
NUTRIENTS:
AG Grow - Bloom, N 14.08, P 14.82, K 37.55
3% H202 if temps get a bit warm, so far have only used it once.
STRAIN:
At this point i only have a clone from my last plant which was a random bagseed, it would appear to be some sativa dominant strain (well thats my uneducated guess! )

once the clone rooted, in the dwc it went with a weak Plant Starter mix in the res for the first week, after that i started with 1mL/L of ag grow bloom and have increased by 1ml for the last 3 weeks.
I finally received my PH meter and discovered the res PH was way out at 8, i have since slowly brought the ph down to about 5.8-6. So far the ph only creeps up about 0.1 every day.

Oh the other plant in the case is another random bagseed i germinated the same week as the clone rooted. Its just in a cut down 1 gallon flower pot with a mix of seed raising potting mix and vermiculite.

I ran 18/6 for the first week and have since switched to 12/12 once they both looked happy.

Yeah she's a clone. I was a little worried at first cos the plant it came from went hermie 4 weeks after the cutting was taken and subsequently culled, but i think that was due to light leaks and heat stress. So far this clone is female, nice pairs of white hairs and no pod like things yet.

So now the thread is back up, i will continue with weekly updates and pics when i do the res change.
i still havent recieved me new ec meter yet so im just playing it safe and going by the recommended nute dosage on the bottle. Ph wise tho, i have found it only drifts from the 5.8 i start with to 6.2 after a week. I top up with 5.8 ph water every couple of days when needed.

so heres tha pics for tonight (21st march) a little more training around the top of the tub too.
nearly forgot about the girl in the soil, no pre-flowers yet, but still happy and growing well. Not as fast as the dwc girl but i guess thats the difference between growing in soil and hydro
I actually have a bigger cupboard in the build which i might end up putting the soil girl in with a 150w hps and scrog screen. still trying to manage temps in that box tho.

Count me in for this one, interested in doing a PC DWC my next go around. It seems my current grow also got lost, this site is so fucking unstable it's ridiculous. Either way, pumped to see the final!

she's growing great! Wish that ec meter would hurry the fuck up, this is why I hate buying shit online from overseas, its been 3 weeks now. Bah.

Anyways, the one in the soil will be going in my new 150w hps cupboard to finish off as the dwc girl is taking up most of the room in the PC case.
Hey can anyone tell me if I were to switch soil girl back to 18/6 for a week or 2, will it give me more vertical growth or will the light change confuse and fuck it up?

shes growing quite nicely, dozen or more little budsites.
other cab is nearly finished so the soil girl will be gettin transplanted into bigger pot and transferred over, which will leave plenty of room for the bubbler

Haha yeah with the two plants in there it is a tight squeeze, but within the week the soil girl is going into it own box so the bubble tub will reign free in the PC box

Here ya go, here's a pic of the case overall, with the two of em squeezed in. They are both the same age, from seed and from clone rooting. I had planned on eventually moving the plant in soil into my other hps cupboard, just haven't finalized the finishing touches yet. I do need to rearrange the cfls in the case so they spread the light out more evenly as I did get some stretch from one side of the bubble tub that was further from the lights... you could probably see that in some of the pics where the plant was taller on one side. so far I have just turned it around 180degrees to try even out the stretch.
Once soil girl is out, all should be good.
I forgot to mention in the last update, I have ramped up to full nute strength at 10ml/L and so far she is loving it. No sign of nute burn... yet.
Still fuckin waiting for my ec meter ... been 4 fuckin weeks now... useless pricks... hate international post.

Its only the one sativa in the micro bubbler and its started flowering so it shouldn't get too much bigger. There's still about 6" of height in the cab as the bubbler is sitting on a couple of wood blocks so height shouldn't be an issue ... I hope
I'm wondering what the little indica will do once I put her under the 150w hps

hopefully them sativas dont keep stretching lol. that indica would turn into 1 fat bud i would think lol.

Yeah man I hope so too. Only form of stretch I wanna see is them buds gettin longer and fatter!
I thought that too about the indica but since I have topped her, she should shoot up 2 big fat buds! In the pics you can see the 2 new main stems from where she was topped.

what is that material you used to light proof it and where'd you get it? how did you light proof the fans?

Hey man thanks for looking!
When u say material used to light proof, are u talking about the reflective material lining the inside? If so, it is just a cheap ass car windscreen shade cut up and hot glued in place.
As for light proofing the fans, I made lights traps for them. I can post some pics of how I did it if u like. Just let me know and I'll get some pics up.

haha yea thats the only good stretch for sure! i didnt notice the indica topping, if ur putting it under the 150 u should def get 2 nice rock hard nugs
