CFL Micro DWC PC Grow

week 2 update, photos taken this morning which makes it 15 days since clone transplant and seed popped out of soil.

both doing very well, the bagseed has exploded in growth in the last week, the leaves are huge compared to the clone.
im thinking this seed is a very indica dominant strain just going by the leaf shape and short internode spacing.
Imma give it a few more weeks or so til i can take a cutting and sex it, fingers crossed it turns out to be female!
The bubblegum clone is doing quite well also, hoping to start the bonsai trimming within the next few weeks.

heres tha 15 day pics bongsmilie

Howdy all.
Been lazy lately with updates so heres a quick update.
This case probably wont get the micro dwc back in it for a while, at the moment it is primarily the veg case for the 2 future bonsai mothers.
I'm waiting for a few more nodes on the bagseed plant so i can take a clone and chuck it under 12/12 to hopefully determine that its a female.
That is also the first step in creating the bonsai so killing 2 birds with one stone :D
I really hope it does turn out female cos i would love to have 2 different strains to play with, maybe even dabble with some breeding later on.;-)

I have done a little trimming on the other mother to even out the growing tops and i've put that cutting in the clone box in a rockwool cube under a dome.

Oh yeah have i mentioned i've built a new clone box? Measures 18"w x 14" h x 13.5" h. got 2 x 24w 6500k cfls and one 92mm pc fan for exhaust with 2x 2.5" dia passive intakes.
I am contemplating removing the 2 spiral cfls and fitting a 40w and 22w circular t5 flouro to the top cos i have an electronic ballast which was from a round household light that powers a 40w and 22w. this will free up another inch or 2 of height cos the circular t5's are only 16mm dia and could be mounted virtually flat against the roof. unfortunately i can only find 5000k circular t5's locally and from what ive read aint much good for veg purposes (very little chlorophyll activity at 5000k) but i have found 6500k online for around 12 bux each.

I have also chucked together a mini 6 site bubble cloner which im trying out.
currently got 2 tomato cuttings, 2 pepino melon cuttings and 2 cuttings off the bubblegum girl in the big cab in it.
only put them in yesterday so will see what happens in a week or so :)

Anyway enough of my ramblings, heres some piccys for yall.

edit: took new pics, other ones were fuzzy from crap on camera lens.

Cheers glock.
I'm always tweaking and modifying the grow boxes, they never perfect :P
I'm lookin forward to your grow man.

word! ill snap some pics of seedlings and shit i got outdoors tomorrow!
baskars ill help u out. how exactly is ur vent system set up? do exactly this. i see u already have 2 2.5' passive intake holes?! or are they fans?!? well... u want 2 times the size of passive intake holes, cuts..w.e then the size of ur exhaust. so if u have a 2.5 inch exhaust fan you would want 5 square inches of passive slits, holes, or cuts. holes are alot harder to do but i got that down pat. its hard because a circle has more surface area then most think. a 1 inch hole has .785 sq inch of surface area compare to a 2 inch circle that has an area of 3.141. 3 in hole has almost 9.5 sq in of area. compare that to a .5 inch tall 6 inch wide slit which will have a sq in area of 3 inches. food for thought. your going to want to measure ur fan, measure out some cuts or circles and MAKE sure that u have 1 slit directly across the exhaust fan, and one somewhere at the bottom of ur grow space. hope this helps. let me know if u need more insight.

Ah yes I see what ur saying. Ventilation in the clone box isn't an issue at the moment, I don't even have that exhaust fan running cos ambient temps are around 22c and the box stays around 26c at most. They are just passive intakes with mesh screen over them and after what you've said, I will enlarge the intakes to approximately 80mm dia. But won't worry about that until ambient temps go back up, its winter at the moment so I have no heat issues at the moment :)

Not much happening in this case, still just the bonsai mums veggin away nicely, accidentally over ferted tho and copped a bit of mute burn.gave them a thorough flush and all back to normal, new growth looks good. Still no sex showing from the bagseed clone under 12/12. I guess it has to mature enough before it will show preflowers...

Quick update, bagseed clone showed sex yesterday, its male... Dang it. So it got ditched, got another 2 seeds waiting to sprout. Hopefully one of them is female!
