It stands for low stress training, Briefly LST is a method to control the height of your plant so you can distribute light more evenly to the center of the plant. BY using LST you will generate multiple big stem instead of a giant one and little one around it. The result is a higher ratio yield/plant then if you grew the plant normally. And u will have alot of medium nugget instead of a giant one at the top and lil one in the bottom of the plant. Im not an expert so i recommend you read more specific thread on the subject. I believe LST is the way to go for peeps like me that want to grow a single plant in a small closet and have a good yield. If your growing bigger you should go Sea of Grenn or SOG they call!, or if your ambitious and have a small closet you can have micro SOG annd grow some Bonzai marijuana HEHE, by the way i hope you understood something, sorry for my poor language!

like papasamba said LST is a type of super cropping. by bending the top node equal or lower to the lower nodes you release more auxin's which aid in growth spurts while the top node tries to go back up. the lower branches the get thick and produce more branches much like the main stem. it's pretty wicked to watch grow. thus likes stated, creates many medium/large size colas rather than one. it's perfect for me too since i have limited space and my baby is 3weeks old and showing a nice pre-flower as of yesterday

Hey im back! my seeds are presently germinating! yay hope they crack soon! ill be posting pics of my closet ASAP, im proud of it i thinks its a nice first timer setup! i was wondering if any of you guys heard of coco extract in your soil, it apparently holds water in the soil for a longer time. Should i use it with perlite or no. right now what i did is that i mixed 30/70 coco extract and soil, i also add half a cup of dolomitic lime. I put rocks in the bottom of my pot so it drains better. My container is about a gallon big and my soil is premix (Nature mix by Hortibec and its a potting soil) it contains peat moss , humus, perlite and compost. With what i have what could be a nice add?? thanks alot!

sounds pretty good to me, usually coco growers grow with coco and nothing but coco, havent really heard too many people mixing it with soil, but it is completely nute free, so could rpove to be quite useful..

i dont get your point on the coco being free of nutes, that leads me to another question i was gonna wait about 2 weeks to start giving nutes, ill use MG all purpose 24-8-16 for veg and ill get my hands on molasse for blooming! from what they say its magic. what is your soil heven? give it a shoot! ill send pic soon no worry! i just need my camera from work and im off today cause its a fuckn storm outside in quebec!

i personally would never grow w/ MG.. molasses is good but it must be blackstrap molasses.. just watch out for bugs..

and what i meant to say was that if coco mix DID have nutes, than it could lead to some over nuting problems, but since its not i was saying that its nice to have a lighter, fluffier grow medium

im growing in a nuteless recycled soil. i seem to like it more than fresh soil, and so do my plants. i just flooded the shit out of it for a couple weeks, and then pulled out all old roots. and it is very light and fluffy without anything mixed in. just some old potting soil mixed with natural dirt from the backyard. i used it in a grow over the summer, and i was told to try recycling because it makes a nice grow medium where u have to adjust nutes on ur own as u go, which is what i wanted.

yea, all classes are cancled for myself here in ny... only about 6 or 7 inches tho.

oh, and molasses is good as long as u also have a blooming agent. the blooming agent will break down the molasses much better than to just add it to water. making the plant easier to consume it

oh ok thx for those info.. is a blooming agent a flower nutes simply? i heard you should always cook the soil thats from outside before using it. ANYWAY... i put my seed yesterday evening in straight water for a couple of hour then move it in a wet paper towel in a tupperware this morning and now its 3 and i just planted the seed in the soil . THe seed had a crack and the things i dont know what its call but it was just about 1 mm out of the seed so i planted it, im hoping its not gonna ruin it i doubt so ! nway have a good one

yea thats good.. the sprout popped out, im not a fan of germinating with a paper towel or water because as long as the seed isnt old as shit it contains almost all the moisture in itself necessary to start growing. i just place my seeds pointed side down, an inch into a peat pellet or just the soil itself, and it never fails.
i mean, everytime someone grows any kind of plant in the world, how many of them have to start seeds themselves?

your right its safer i guess, anyway,, first attempt here , Is it a good idea to water the seed. I put the seed litteraly like almost on the ground that was saturated a day before its still very humid but should i water? thanks

not sure what u mean exactly, but the seed needs just enough water to coat it once. very little.. too much and ur seeds guts will turn to mush lol
