CFL sale at Walmart

If you are from the northern California area ( i dont know if the same deal is in other states) and have a Walmart near by. ( which who doesnt ) they are having a sale on their " lights of America " brand bulbs. cost is .97 cents each. last week i saw them and they where 1.49$ i picked up 12 of them for $11.64. doesnt hurt to buy a few extra bulbs in case.

They also has some 75watt output cfls as well at the same price. But i passed them by for the 100watt output.

Ah, man. I wish people wouldn't shop at Wal-Mart as much. Gotta support those local, independent stores or else they will go bye-bye.

I dont really like to shop at Wal-Mart. I go there to buy cat food. ( 48 cents a can Vs. 97 cents a can from a local chain store) i just happened to see this sale and wanted to pass it a long to others. its all about more for your dollar.

I can't argue that their prices are cheap. But I do have issues with the last statement. It's not all about more for your dollar unless you want it to be. I don't have very much money, but I still avoid Wal-Mart, and would rather spend a little extra coin (literally coins) to be able to shop according to my moral standards.

I'm not hating, honest, it's just one of those things you can't stand to sit back and watch happen without trying to inform people of some of the truths surround it.

But agreed, hell of a deal.

soft white? i didnt see any of them or i would have grabbed some. only thing i couldnt find in bulb wise were the day light spectrum, but thats what mail order is for seemed nothing was over 2700k tons and tons of soft white.

ya cant hate on the man for trying to save a dollar here and there in this economy.ive had to change soil,nutes because i just cant afford the hydro shop's expensive stuff.5 years ago i would have agreed with you but i did my whole grow with items from the Dollar Store.

I'm not hating on him by any means. Just trying to provoke some thinking among cannabis growers about whether or not they want to have all their money go to China.

A lot of people who are really into glass won't buy anything except American-made glass in order to support the glass artists of America. I do my best to maintain a consistent ethic, and that follows over to grow equipment as well. Again, IMHO. I am not trying to provoke an argument whatsoever.

i really do understand where your coming from.i like my glass..but i smoked outta cheap smoke- shop glass too.and believe me i am a true redblooded american but a penny saved is a penny earned.but most everything you buy for weed from seeds to lighting usually comes from another country.i say get the most out of your dollar even if it means buying foriegn goods.

I also don't think Auzzie is Hating. he is just stating a fact of what big box stores are known to do. Truthfuly i can hardly find anything that is still made in the states. These bulbs for example " lights of america " their main office is in Walnut, Ca but the bulb its self is made in china. So who am i really supporting... America or china?

Anyways this has totally gone off topic. This thread was to be what kinda deals people can find and then share it with other members of the growing group. So if anyone else finds good deals at box stores please feel free to post.

I like your thinking Auzzie I think in that way a lot especially being a small business owner myself its hard to compete with money hungry corporations i try to buy local as much as I can only going to places like wal-mart and such for things i have trouble finding elsewhere.
