Ok i started with 6 of them cfl 23=100w (3-2700 & 3-3500)bulbs on the top of the room. Then i change it to 2 of them 150w cfl bulbs.i dont think its as bright. Should i go back to the 6 ? I also now have 2-23w on 2 sides in the middle of the box for light to the middle of the plant. Pluse the 2-t5 48" bulbs on the side also. Plant is doing great just dont know which set up is better. This plant has grow like 6" in like 2 weeks since i put her into flowering. I used the 6 lights for 1 week and the 2 for the other week. Any help would be great. Thank you

When using CFL in my experience it's best to do quite a bit of training, starting by tying over the main stalk and appropriate side branches accordingly. This way your light are always super close to all the bud sights. Also I find hanging each bulb individually in certain sweet spots helps a ton when it comes to coverage. I'll go dig up a grow I did with 148 watt of CFL and post pics up here. And if you have extra lights use them. Hard to go overboard with CFL lighting.

Yes i have 3 training now. Ya im gonna add a few more bulbs til i get a new led. I just added 2 more of the 23w 1-3500&1-2700. So now thats 6 -23w 2-40w and 2 t5. Also trimmed a few leaves so more light shines thru.

here are those pics, just showing how I train and used CFL in the past for max yield and dense nugs.

Dang they look nice. So i should leave they tied down the whole time ?
Yup once you tie down you just leave it like that. Be careful not to crack the branches. Sometimes I'll tie them over a little bit at a time as to not stress the plant too much and tie it over a little more each day until the branch is basically horizontal.
Get a spool of coated gardening wire and when a branch gets taller than the rest of the canopy just tie that one down too. After a halfway through flowering they don't need anyone training.

I kept my CFL lights 2-3 inches from the canopy. Once you get a good canopy going you'll know where the sweet spot for the bulbs will be. I did that with just 148 watts.

Let me start by saying that plant looks awesome. Good job so far. My first grow was with cfl, and I got great results. Once I added a 70w hps I was hooked. I kept all my CFL and added more hPS. watt for watt a small 20$ hps will give you huge returns

I have a 70w hps but everyone says its not enough and i know that but never thought of adding it with the other bulbs
for one plant you can get amazing results with a 70 watt. As long as you have side lighting with CFL. Check out my grow journal. That's 150 HPS and CFL side lighting. I would not try to do four plants, with a 70w hps, but I've used them for years and seventy watts on one plant you can get Pro results with cfl too.

Ok. Ill try it. How many cfls do you think i will need ? Box is 2x2x4. Temp in the room now is low 70's. Im gonna raise the box lid another 16" this weekend cause the plant grew into the light. Its in a 5gal bucket. Which is a little to big for that room.

If you can afford it run all of them. If not figure out your budget. Thousand watts running for 1 hour is 1kwh kilo watt hours, where I am at that's 11 cents x 12 hours a day is a $1.32 a day, or 40 a month. Run as much light as you can afford. I am running 75 w CFL & 150hps that's about 8 dollars a month. an 1/8th costs 30 here, so even if I got 3.5 grams I'd be good, that's assuming a 90 day grow 4 week veg 8 week flower. If you ran all your lighting and the Hps you will get a much better yeild than a few g

Also when you go to harvest that plant, don't kill it if you got her in a five gallon bucket, you have invested a lot of time in a great root system. Make sure you keep a couple of the lower branches intact, so that you can re veg her.

2700k, 3500k. In veg she might like some light around 5500 k and above.
