CFL winter grow

thx guys...more lights coming soon!!!right now theres only 4 cfl's on i plan on using 10 for flowering! it also gets put in the sun almost everyday for a few hours,i think the sun has been helping big time :)

hey!! fixed up my girls home... I got 3 new CFL's, 32 watts, 2150 lumars a peice... So now we have a total of 8 CFL's all together.. she's really happy!! I'll take some new pics of her home tomorrow and show you!.. but for now, here she is in the sun a few days ago... =) shes got little preflwers on every node!!!!! beautiful white hairs... :)

we switched the light cycle to 12\12.shes getting so smelly now! :) new pics tomorrow maybe. :)

If you want to use CFL's you should check this out Brite*Ideas*Hydroponics*and..., Brite*Ideas*Hydroponics*and..., SH Hydroponics > Replacement Light Bulbs

Damn if you're going to pay that much for cfl light and hood, might as well go hps:mrgreen: hell I would!

ya ive spent like 40$ total on everything for my plant soil and nutes included.and i have over 10000 lumars :)

Cool, sounds reasonable however you could probably get something cheaper than that light and hood, why not create your own?

The reason i am going to try cfl's is becausr HPS, MH and the ballast puts out too much heat and pull too many amps. I am just growing for myself. I know that you get better results with the HP and MH and i might use them at some point. What kind of harvest have you gotten with cfl's?

I thought about just buying the lights and just use some shop reflector hoods with the clamps on them from home depot. I think that you probally need to have a good hood for the cfl's to get good results.

to make my hood i just cut holes in a piece of cardboard covered it in mylar,and stuck the light sockets through.it works!

That hood in the closet on the left looks about the same size as the one i want. How much was that one?

stickey do you mean the white stove hood? I got that at a thrift store for ten bucks, worked good for starters, I don't use it anymore, I have something different now, it's not really a hood though just a ghetto light fixture...
