CFLs any good for flowering?

As above, anyone grown using CFLS? the red spectrum 250 watt ones i mean

I hear there not bad for a plant or 2, but i wouldn't use it for more then 2.

i feel having one good cfl (right spectrum for the needs) per branch works well. Its def. trial and error. But check the stickies and search some im sure youll find answers faster than waiting for the well experienced on here to post.
