Hey. I have two Hima. Golds that have their third sets of leaves justbarely coming on. Thus far I had them sitting by a southern window to germ and sprout and all. But, I wanted to put them under some cfls to experiment and see how they grew. I read that if they got a foot tall or so pretty soon, I could put them outside and maybe get a harvest by late april or early may, but even if thats not true, I want them to start now becasue they are going outside to a permanent home. Heres the question: The grow space is about 2x2x3. I have two heat lamps hanging from the top with a 100 watt natural light cfl in each. I put one plant directly under each light about an inch away last night. This morning, there had been no growth it seems. The only thing that happened was the two big leaves turned straight up towards the light almost touching. The little new leaves hadn't grown at all and this was after all night of lights. The only difference was the big leaves turning straight up. This seems to me like its not good. I want growth, not whats happening. Any suggestions on what to do? Should I remove the heat lamp shield things from them? Should I center them between the two lights instead of putting them directly beneath? By the way, I am growing in organic soil with chicken, cow and guano ferts to come. Please help me out, or I guess this is the end of my indoor attempts.Peace.
