Kho, everything is banging right now. I pulled out the Purple Kush from my first harvest last night, ground some up and it smelled like grape kool-aid. Amazing smoke and the cure is coming along. Made my whole week, no purple color (just blueish) but smells purple! Lol

Here are some bad pics my two 46" Top 44 plants 3.5 weeks into flowering. (the third plant is NL and 40")
One girl is a bit bendy because I had her tied down to get her cola right under the hps...
All I had was a camera phone, and I'd never seen a plant so big in person (looks larger out of the flowering chamber), so I figured I'd take a couple pics.. bongsmilie
46INTOP44.jpg

Anyone care to guess yield?
They are under 60w / sq foot. With added Co2. Shooting for at least 1.5 oz per plant. Last grow was 1 oz per plant.

hey mcone, sub'd. interested to see how your HB comes out. a friend of mine also grew some (we both got seeds from a bag of HB we bought out of a coffeeshop - originated i think from DNA genetics) my first grow got a bit stressed and 2 plants also had some hermy sex going on down in the lower branches and I ended up with a bag of seeds - the bud was still killer though. the clones for my 2nd and 3rd grow seem to have sorted themselves out and no males flowers. Heres a bud shot from lat grow with some HB bubble hash

hey guys thanks for coming through.
:leaf:

I've been working hard today. Smoking some super silver haze, and getting ish done.

Picture update for week 4 day 1 tomorrow. Moved a 16" headband clone into flowering today, watered my 4 inch seedlings, and the main upgrade...
Bought a new 5'x5'x7' grow tent for flowering. This more than doubles my former space of 2'x4', and I added a serious HPS!

The new high power flowering chamber goes as follows:
New 600w super deluxe HPS bulb with air cooled enclosed hood with 340cfm pumping the hot air outside
New 300-660w adjustable digital lumatek ballast (upgraded from 250w hps)
New 6" 250cfm exhaust fan / new 4" 105cfm intake fan
Thermostat controller box, oscilating fan, music, air purifier, carbon can filter, timer, and humidifier using from previous chamber.

Thanks Tahoe! :joint: bongsmilie
The picture below is the Top 44 girl that was directly below the old 250w hps the whole grow, while the taller two plants with the wispier buds were on each end like book ends getting blasted with CFLs... Now that I have a proper space, I will be able to rotate the plants more under the HPS and get fully developed colas all round at this stage! Ha!
very beautiful work .... thanks for the awesome pics and updates ...

DST I hear you on saving for lights man... And KHO Isn't it funny how things always come up that don't involve growing that cost money? like food, water, rent.. haha.. I'll be paying the light off for a bit but the harvest should much better now!!
Good to hear yours went well! I am still smoking on the Champagne, great functional medicine as it was picked early especially, low cbd.

The 180cfm inline fan and 160cfm squirrel cage fans for the air cooled HPS are both mounted outside the tent to remove internal heat sources, while the 250cfm fan is mounted directly on top of the roof exhaust port to reduce any loss of CFM. The 250cfm exhaust fan (and a small heater fan inside the tent) are plugged into a hydrofarm thermal controller that keeps the temps at 80F without venting too often as the tent is only 155cf. A 105cfm computer fan is mounted inside a 6" port near the bottom and pulls fresh air in for the oscilating fan to spread around. The co2 all sinks down from the green-pads and is dispersed by the oscillating fan too. Then, the air purifier fan down low blows the cold and co2 enriched air that settles back up to the top of the canopy so it can all be used. Another small fan, in the back of the tent, gently blows air to the leaves that the oscillating fan cannot reach. I added a couple 45w CFLs down low for the popcorn buds near the pots, I assume they are necessary since the HPS is 56" away from the soil? If not let me know and they're out...
If you have any suggestions as to improve the efficiency of the setup or anything let me know, I am open to suggestions. Thanks

Those are some happy looking ladies mcone!!! You have got some nice space as well (or it that due to you cropping recently?)
Don't think you'll be having any air/ventilation problems by the sounds of it, wish I had taken a leaf out of this book....heat over the summer was difficult here. Now I am dealing with bloody dampness (the joys of living below sea level!!!!) I had one of my mates check out a local pc store today, they have got fans for 5 euro each, so I am investing in a few of them for sure (they seem to be quite popular among the masses.)

I have just finished a mini veg cabinet, and will also be installing some of those pc fans in that (just started 5x Dame Blanche (fems), and 5 X Orange Cali - for that during the day smoke)...looking fwd to your end result shots. Any pics from the harvest? Laters.

DST, Scroll back a few pages for the Champagne and Purple kush harvest from the 250w HPS and 320w of CFLs. The current NL & Top44 crop is twice the size, yet half the plants...
Just got the tent, its brand new.. I have a lot of the computer fans, from 4-6" and they work well for me.

I also took the small fan from the back of the tent and trained it on the hps this morning, dropped the temps a couple degrees at that level by increasing airflow..
Looks like I need a oscilating fan with a wider reach, yet gentle breeze... Any ideas anyone? let me know. Thinking a small 'whole room circulator' turned on low.. But from where and which one..

There can be only One Mcone!! That is some tasty looking champers!!! If I could figure out how to send you some +Rep it would be on it's way (anyone tell me how to do give someone Rep?) I have marked your thread as excellent in the interim.

Hey I did scroll back, and read that you had chopped a bit early due to mildew onset......well I have had the same problem - living under water can be tuff - and was also thinking of chopping my og kush early(which seemed to be the main offenders of my girls) what I got however was something called Silinal by Ecostyle, which is something we get here (not sure about where u is at - but I am sure they have a similar product) Anyway, this stuff is natriumsilicaat - translated to English = Sodium silocate (glass water) which is used for spraying on grapes, enviromentally friendly, and seems to have done the trick!!! I sprayed a leaf patch this morning, but for the rest it has really done the trick. Happy smoking on the Champoo:eyesmoke:

wish I could help on the fans, but I have had two burn out on me in the last few months - 50 sheckles down as well (and the shop said, "bring them in and we will send them back to the manufacturer!!!" i.e you are not getting a refund - so I wouldn't want to give any gash recommendations.

Haha! Its like HIGHlander, they're can be only one(m.c.)..
Thanks for the post mate! I treated my girls with Serenade last time around and am treating the current crop as a preventative.. In order to give rep, not that I deserve it, but you click on the icon that looks like a balled up piece of paper on the post. Its in the upper right hand corner of the posts.. I had 1 fan burn out on me too, but it was 2 years old..

Cheers bongsmilie
