changing cycles

Ok, so i got a couple guys that have been goin for just over a month now under 24/0. There about 10-12" right now and i only want them to get a max of 3ft, and mad bushy. They are also sitting in pots, with holes in the bottom, inside of a rubber made container with an " or so of water. Im trying to figure out if and wen i should go 18/6 or just straight 12/12, and if i still want to leave them in the pots and water, or just pots. Also if i want to clone one should i just leave that one in 24 or can i clone one that is going to flower as well?

u can top them to bush them out before you go 12/12 depends on the strain how bushy they will get, if your ready to flip them go ahead you dont need the 18/6, id ditch the rubber made containers they have lil dishes to place under you pots to catch run off water.you can make a mother out of one of them if u want then you would only have one to go 12/12 or you could take clones off of each one put them back under 24/0 till they bush out and recover from cloning then flip them and youll have two plants to go in bloom and more clones on the way to make moms and so on just depends what your tring to achive a one time crop or continuous crops

If you dont want to top em', switch to 12/12 before they hit 16" tall. If you aint runnin a 1000 watter at 10" or less, i'd flip em now, or top em down and flip when they hit 12". Ive come to the conclusion that one may as well go from 24/0 on clones and seedlings, to 18/6 for veg. then hit em with the right nutes and 12/12 for flower. I played with slowly dropping the lights for a season, and noticed NO change. Actually, one would think that by going from 18/6 to 12/12 overnight, it would make it a given for the plant that NOW is the time.

Your babies will about double in height by the end. Im always amazed how much taller they get so fast once you go flower. Never again will I let one go to 18" before flipping (indoors). Last one I topped and went 18" with, had bullshit baby nugs about 8" down from the top. Even my 1000hps in a vented hood 8" from the plants couldnt get the bottom nugs.

are you saying its in soil in pots and the pots air in the water?
Just flip straight to 12/12. You should fim (multiple times if you like)and then start lsting your plants to keep them nice and short and bushy as fuck(right now in veg, not when you start to flower. fimming/topping after the start of flowering is a bad idea. Lsting only during flower)

sweet thanks guys. and now i'm noticing the soil is starting to smell like a swamp so should i def switch that now or leave it until i switch to 12/12, which im gona wait to do for a little while so i can fim them a couple times.

ure probaly overwattering if your soil smells like swamp and u dont want to transplant once you flip em do that while there still in veg

take the pots out of the water immediately, your drowning the plants. How often and how much do you water?
