Cheap LED lights

Hello all,
am I just dumb to be looking into a cheap 300w LED light? I have been looking at the Mars Hydro, Viperspectra, amd King. I am planing on using it in a small clost grow with one plant in a DWC. is it worth buying cheap for this? it will also be my first DRC grow. thanks.

5 years ago I bought "cheap" LEDs that I'm still using today. Cheap is really cheap these days as I paid 285 for my lights and they only pull about 160w. I was asking about lights a few months ago and someone vouched for the Virperspectra. Spending a fortune on the "best" light isn't necessarily the right choice for everyone.

What's your budget and the size of your grow area?

Thanks for the info. I don't have much money to spend.

I am nooking at the ones below 150.00

I am looking to spend under 150.00 for a light with minimal heat
For $190 you can get a Mars 2 400w, but that's only going to cover about 2x2, maybe 2x2.5. I'm in the market for a new lamp myself, looking at Norther Grow Light cob LEDs. They start out at $300.

shopping for LED always look for actual draw because if you look for 300w LED it wont actually be 300w LOL, probably more like 90w actual draw....if you want to find something with around 300w actual draw in LED...look for units advertised as at least 600w..because it most likely have actual draw of 200w+...but always make sure check actual draw of any unit you think about buying and dont just take word for wattage it being advertised as

I have a Mars 1200 for sale, used 1 grow.
Perfect condition if your interested.
Upgraded to COB.
Still under warranty from factory.

If your going to use cheap Blurple atleast use Mars.
Either buy new as they have warehouses in most countires.
Or Build DIY COB.
Like I said before I have a Mars 1200 under warranty perfect condition 1 grow with it. Moved up to COB if you want it.
Great light for what is it.
99 of grow lights lie about wattage. watch out

Hey Bwailer.
I went the cheap route with the 300watt light to start and found I needed to add light, it's not enough to get you a nice haul. Start your plant on a cheap Mars or Viparspectra (Both well made inexpensive) and plan on another one when flower stage starts. BUT, I would save until I had $250-$300 and get Viparspectre 1000 watt or 1200 watt. They both use 400-600 watts. I now have a 2x4x5 grow tent with a Viparspectre 1000watt and I' adding my King and Mars on the sides for more coverage. I'd really recommend waiting till you can get a more powerful light. My first grow was in a closet as well. I started with 300 watt Mars and HAD to add a King 800 watt in flowering, 300 wasn't enough.

I just saw a Viparspectra 450 watt reflector series for $139 on amazon. I would recommend this led for a starter

OP these are very decent blurples. Here's a good choice for under $150. If you had $299 to play with, I'd grab a single Photon unit from Northern Grow Lights. Good luck..
